Regular vs gt500 seats

Does anybody know if the seats for a regular GT are the same as the seats for the GT500. There is a guy on craigslist selling a set of leather take offs from his 2013 GT500 and I was wondering if they would work to replace the cloth in my 2014 GT. I know the GT500 has the super snake logo but I think I can live with that for the perforated leather inserts. The perforated leather I think would be nice to have in the south.

Base seats are the same, recaro's are the same, between the two cars. Just have to make sure which ones the guy has.

You'd have to check with folks that have done this swap but I remember reading that the rear seats were slightly different. Maybe get portfolio is someone you could im. I think it's the rear seat base that is slightly loose but I didn't look bad at all in pics.

I don't think so. I think they have extra bolstering to them then the base seat just like the 07-09 GT500s had.

For anyone in the future looking for this information... The 2013 and 2014 GT and GT500 base sport style seats are the same in the front and on the back support for the rear seat. The bottom of the back seat on the GT500 has a little extra foam where the back of your knees touch. I know this to be fact now! I spent about 6 hours yesterday recovering all of my seats with take off leather from at GT500, black on black with perforated leather! Anybody thinking about doing this mod should do it immediately, it is amazing! Will post pictures later when it stops raining.

Is this the same with 2011? I am about to do the swap and was told the front seat backs were different and that was it not the back seat bottom.

From what I have read there is a difference between the GT and GT500 front seat backs on the 2011. Refer to this forum thread: http://www.allfordmustangs.com/forum...-gt-print.html thats what my statement is based on. But for the 2013 and 2014 the front seats are the same, just a small difference in the rear seat bottom for the 14.

It looks awesome, only down side was the plastic headrest guide on the driver seat broke when I was reinstalling it, but it was an $8.60 part so I am waiting for it to get here. When it gets her I will post pictues. Also got a couple of pretty rough cuts when the gloves were off. Overall completely worth it!

What he said^

Btw that loose area in the back where your knee back touches drives me crazy. I thought Ford cheapened out on the V6 but soon found out that this is common on all cars.

The real problem lies with 11-12 cars and when the headrests changed. You're fine tho. Post pics if you get them.

I will post pictures as soon as my new headrest post guide comes in. Doesn't look right with only one headrest. Pictures should be up in a day or two!

I still love the seats too, would go through the cuts and sore hands all over again to see these seats in my car!

Took me longer than I expected to post these. I have had some things come up that have kept me pretty busy.

Those look pretty good, nice job! The suede/alcantara must be a nice support touch in the corners.

It is a very nice touch, I love them, and would go through the pain all over again in a heartbeat. Totally worth it!

I agree that looks good, and you did a good job. How difficult was that to do, removing the old and putting the new on?

It wasn't very difficult at all. Anyone you has some experience working on cars should be able to do it. It is just a matter of taking your time and not yanking on anything. Other than that it is pulling off the old covers and cutting off the hog rings and then putting the new covers on and putting on the new hog rings.

If you are planning on doing this mod then I would suggest finding the video from motorz, they do a pretty good explanation.
