Let there be (more trunk) light!

Did the same to the ground and then re-routed the wires around to the area under the rear decklid. Had to add a little wire to make it reach. Then crimped the female blade connectors to the wires on the LED string and plugged it in. The LED string came with some 3M adhesive backing and has been holding the past few days with no issues. Its been raining and humid here. We will see the first time it gets very cold. And even if the adhesive doesn't hold some real 3M double sided tape will do just nicely.

I did mine by just using the 3 ft run already attached to the 36" light strip. I did not run it all the way to the factory trunk light bulb connector. I tapped in where the harness originates close to the RH taillamp connector. Yello/Green (+) and White/Blue (-)

I still don't know why this much light is needed in a trunk. The factory lighting is acceptable for me.
By lighting from above, you avoid that problem.

I also have the trunk cargo net, which is extremely handy, but once you put something in it...bye bye light
I just did this with the LED bulb in the factory location and the 12" strip from Superbright LEDs ...
However, since I put my amps on the rear deck, the light was off center, since I felt putting it in the middle would leave the light too exposed to damage from loading and unloading large bags (hockey gear) in the trunk.
Ordered a second LED light and will have two, one on either side of my amplifiers and the trunk will be fully illuminated.
Will get pics once the second one is here and installed. Already the first one is a HUGE improvement over the light that gets blocked everytime I put something in the trunk, held in place by my cargo net.

Update:
Installed 2 super bright led light bars and the replacement for the factory trunk light.
Here is the LED trunk light by itself:
