Iphone 6 and sync issues?
Apparently the world has gone crazy today over the new iphone; happens every year I guess . Will this still work with our sync?
One good thing I like about the current iphone 5 is that with my 'otterbox' case on it, it fits right between the radio volume and fan speed buttons. Perfect for using navigation.
Does anyone else have trouble posting pictures from their iphone to this app?

I preordered it and picked it up for my fiancée tonight, to replace her cracked screen 5. It's nice. Perfect size for me. I really wish the iPhone 5 was this size. I'll get one eventually and it'll be my last phone for a long time. There's nothing that wows me with technology, so the larger screen of the regular 6 is perfect. The 6+ is just asinine, but will probably lure a lot of android owners back to Apple.

I sure hope that the iPhone 6 works properly with Sync. Earlier this year, I bought an HTC One M8. That did not work properly with Sync and I could not get it to play music via USB either. I have two Fords with Sync with MyFord and the M8 would not work with either. I ended up giving the M8 to my daughter and going back to my iPhone 4.
The other option would have been to gut the entire Sync system from both vehicles and replace it with an aftermarket system that works. That's not a bad idea anyway and I'll probably do it at some point. The problem with this is cost. It will be about $1400 to install the Maestro system in the Mustang and several hundred more to install something in the F-150. The F-150 already has new speakers, JBL MS-8, sub and sub amp. I'd only have to replace the head unit with all the associated connectors and dash panel. Sitll not a cheap prospect.
As long as the iPhone 6 works with Sync to provide basic Bluetooth music playback properly, I could delay replacing Sync for a long while. But if, after spending $800-$1000 to buy another new phone and it still doesn't work, I will not be happy.

Not only does my iPhone 6 work fine (well, as well as my 5S did) with Sync, but as of the iOS 8.0.2 update the other day, Sync now has text message functionality with the iPhone.
I was driving home from work on Thursday and heard a weird chime from the radio. Looked over at the display and it said I had a new message and showed the little envelope in the corner. So I pressed the voice command button and said "read new message" and Sync did! You still have to hold down the home button of the iPhone to activate Siri to dictate a message to reply with though. Unless I'm missing something.
