Best method/technique to uncouple Sync module
For those folks who have unplugged the harness from the module up behind the glove box, where is the pressure point or release tab? I was on my back on the passenger floor just as the sun was going down the other day and didn't have a chance to fool with it. I noticed a grey plastic piece that runs diagonally over the harness connector, is that something to focus on?

So here is a pic, and I've been prying on the gray piece at the end furthest away from the module, but it won't budge. I don't want to break it.
Is the whole gray piece supposed to slide to the right, horizontally, or pivot somehow? I suppose I could lookup the removal procedure in the shop manual...

there is a lock tab in the center/top of the gray slide lock. You have to engage it in order to be able to rotate the slide to the right. However, I have done about 20 of these cars and I just follow the harness down into the car (usually goes over top left side of glove box) and open up the loom to find the wire.

I will give that a shot, as I can't get it off. When you open up the loom, do you recall if the wires are bunched as pictured in the Maestro docs on page 5?

Assuming I have the right wire, how many times is the red light on the module supposed to blink when pressing the steering wheel buttons?

Yes the bundle looks like in our guide. That was drawn from picture of real car. Inside your loom will have a lot more wires than our drawing. We are just trying to show that it's not in the sublooms or the twisted pairs.
When it's correct, the LED on Maestro will blink when you press the following three buttons:
Voice - 1 blink
OK - 2 blinks
Phone - 3 blinks

Thanks! I must have found the pyrite 'blue wire' from the bundle. I will find the right one and take pix as I go along, verify the blinks on the RR module. My defective Kenwood is en route back to Delaware, if all goes well they will ship out my replacement on Friday and I'll be back at it next Monday.
