The 2011 + PCM's are capable hardware wise. Same thing for the Clusters..

Its the firmware here that matters. Might have to do some tricking tinkering again.

Maybe we should start a new thread on it? Mods?

It would seem that the lopey idle has to be enabled in the Boss cars.

 

Some more fun with IDS .... Under Personality ...

You can change your Sill Plate color from being AMBIENT light color to ALWAYS RED - Like a Shelby. Or .. if you have a Shelby GT500 .. you can make them AMBIENT LIGHT color .

Don't like Big Brother Bugging you? You can turn off the Seat Belt reminder for the Driver or Passenger .. or Both.

 

I'm going to have to get you to do a walk through with me so I can do this stuff too.

Hines, I have not received that plate from BlackCat Customs. I need to email that guy to find out what is going on.

On another note, I HAVE a Red Track Key uncut and unused along with the virgin Track Key software for '12/'13 Boss 302's. I am not going to be able to do what I was wanting due to the car since we are going FI in the next couple of weeks. Only be running one tune after we install the Vortech.
My question is: the track key IS available for the '12 Boss, so I am guessing all the Boss Clusters are Track Key enabled. When you buy the "track key" from Ford, it comes in a nice packet that looks like it will have a disc, thumb drive and a key, but NO.....All it is, is a print out of EXACTLY what you see online on the Track Key instructions and description. There is one page that has the one time "code" for the dealer to install your "track key" . Is the tune stored on the PCM or on the Cluster?

 

On the pcm. The cluster just tells the pcm what key is in.

 

So the program will probably flash your PCM so that it is a "dual path" PCM?

 

Correct. It will update the firmware on the PCM.

Talked to Black Cat Customs yesterday and good news. He has completed the new designs for the faces. Mine is on the way and when I get it, I will send it to you. It is a hybrid of the premium face with the halo and Boss style lettering. Here is what it will look like:

FYI .. for those doing the ABS Module SWAP in their 2011/2012. I noticed that ever since I nstalled the 2013 Module I never noticed my Traction Control light illuminate on the Cluster when spinning tires and such with Traction Control on.

The other night while playing with IDS I saw an IVD (In Vehicle Dynamics) Initiation Sequence. What it does is calibrate the ABS module. You have to be parked on LEVEL Ground and Brake applied (follow directions on screen). After doing that I can now make the traction control light illuminate on the cluster when spinning wheels. I have a feeling I had no traction control before even though there were no DTC's.

 

Its very possible. But if indeed it was disabled you would get notification.

IVD also resets/calibrates the RCM.

I had to do this with my 2013 ABS module, as it said Yaw Sensor calibration missing. Didn't help for the incompatible Software, but cleared this DTC.
