Sorry ... been busy tonight .. no time to assist. Put your 2012 cluster back in until one of us have time to work with you on it ....

a couple of weeks ago either Lex or AJP posted instructions for doing the PATS .. I had the dealer do mine before I got my VCM so I don't have first hand experience.

There is another thread stickied for how to rewire the steering wheel selector switch - JIM010 posted that.

You need a 2013 ABS module for Track Apps.

You will need to reflash your PCM like Lex said to a 2013 Boss Calibration if you want everything to work perfectly.

Hi.

Go in the PATS menu. Select Erase Keys
This will automatically erase and program your keys.
Once done, exit PATS. Car won't start.
Enter PATS again. Do parameter reset. Car will start.

I did the erase. I then did the second thing down where you have to turn both keys to start for 6 seconds. This made the redkey no longer say trackey active when I use it.

Yes, after you have done the 2 keys for 6 seconds, you have to go back and do the parameter reset. That will sync the new cluster to the PCM for PATS.

I don't know how to reactivate the track key.

Pretty sure the track key is tied to cluster. There should be an option to enable the Track Key in IDS. Since the PCM is already setup for Track Key hopefully that will resolve your issue. Otherwise from what I have read you will need to purchase another track-key code and have the dealer install again ... Good Luck.

I see that as an option but it wouldnt let me mess with it last night at first. I didnt go back in after I got the keys working again. I will try that out tonight.

A boss needs a new ABS module?

Any good leads on where to get these taps/pins for the wiring?

If you want Track-Apps to work then you need a 2013 ABS module. Glad to hear you got the car running.

That's the part number to the abs module you need. Look it up at auto nation ford white bear. They sell it for $186.

Update: Me and Dan are working on a calibration now. Writing a calibration for a 2013 firmware loaded on a 2012 PCM has proven interesting Hopefully we will have good news by end of the night.

Cheers all.

The 2012 Strategy was succesfully loaded into the 2013 PCM. Matt and I did some datalogging and he made a few tweeks here and there to improve performance over the stock tune. I also requested that Fuel Cutoff on Decel be removed and Matt was able to do that as well - I hated seeing my AFR skyrocket everytime I let off the throttle. Car is running well and I will drive it for a few days before I send Matt's equipment back. Of course .. all of the the 2013 features are still working - Track apps, additional gauges and cruise control.

So ... at this point .. it appears my conversion has been 100% successfully completed.

Note: The 2012 Tune does not run any cooler than the 2013 tune ... Cylinder head temp readings are very similar. Also .. I can't figure out why .. but my BCM thinks I have a convertible and it has 4 Convertible Top DTC's that won't go away ... since the sensors are not present. I even did a PMI on the BCM using my original VIN. Very strange.

Excellent! I'm calling the tune "Better than stock". Aside from the changes required for the 2012->2013 conversion, It has small improvements like "Desired Labmda at WOT" slightly richer in lower ranges, added 5% to "Driver Demand Engine", skip shift disabled, coasting fuel changes, and other misc/required stuff. I'm working on a method of delivering this to typical end user though the VCM II (or any J2534 interface), however, I don't know how much effort I will be able to devote to this. I'm going to consider other delivery options as well.

About the convertible codes, did you change BCM ASBUILT? Where are the codes coming from? and what are they?

Cheers
-Matt

Hmmm ... is there ASBUILT for the BCM? I'll have to double check that. I'm not at home today .. codes had to do with Convertible top Position sensors.

Thanks .. maybe I used an Convertible As-BUILT by mistake at some point .. I'll load some Coupe AS-Built tonight and see if that resolves it.

Sweet Hines...Only thing though is fuel economy will suffer a bit with Coasting fuel shutoff removed along with engine braking when you lift...But if that's how you like the car to respond then cool...And fuel economy is overrated lol....But don't make it too rich under WOT or power will suffer.

Glad to hear....Now it's time to experiment with MYColor for BOSS lol

My fuel economy guage still maxes to 40mpg when I let off throttle and leave in gear. My WOT locks at 11.8 if of load is high enough.
