SilverHorse Racing flush-mount quarter window louvers

Mark, glad you're alright, and yes, most of our parts can take quite a "hit" if needed, but it's not exactly what we're hoping happens to them!
Been away for SEMA, but here's the answers to the questions:
1) The only risk for us turning it into an all day affair is if you used too much urethane and some squeezed out in the back edge area - I'm a bit of a perfectionist for the installs, so instead of just "letting it go" we removed them and started over. It's not hard, just messy, and of course it was on a white 2011, so it took a while to clean up the urethane since it wasn't hardened yet. I've done ~ 20 installs and this was the first one that got me, mostly because I was rushing since we had customers from overseas also visiting at the same time that I was trying to spend a few minutes with. The lesson - don't rush yourself, and you won't have an issue...
2) Cutting the interior like in our instructions gives an even gap to the louver. It's not noticeable when re-installed. You can actually cut them at an angle from front to back getting smaller and shringk it somewhat, but it's hard to explain how and where to do it, so the easiest explanation is a straight cut. The #1 vent is the one that has the fitment so tight, so technically you could just dremel around that area and leave the rest alone if you were really bored, but then it is noticeable since it is "different" than the rest of the edge area. Better to make a straight cut that your eye isn't drawn to than to make little cuts here and there that jump out at you. Put it this way - people seeing our car at SEMA don't notice that the interior is even trimmed, even the Ford guys who looked at it...
3) Tool I use for the trimming here is a jigsaw with a fine tooth blade. Takes about a minute a panel, then clean up any burr with a razor after the fact. If I think about it, next time we have an install here I'll just have someone video that part of it so that it's up on Youtube, but it's an easy deal.

It was already discussed with the "powers that be" to be optional on this model... unfortunately the costs involved in bringing it to mass production and getting through all the .gov hoops preclude them from being a standard production piece at this time.

Hopefully Ford can get them in the next gen ones and pass all the NHTSA requirements

Thanks Marcello, as I said, I'm sure its a easy deal, just would like to see it more for self reassurance, so seeing that video would be nice. But I trust you, after installing the first pair on my original stang was a breeze. Thanks for the response, can't wait until I can order ones for my new stang.

Sense the 'other half' stole the 6'er I think I'm going to get her a set for her B'day.
Marcello, her B'day is the end of November, how soon should I place the order for a set of your 2012 Louvers in Race Red?
Thanks,
~j

Order sooner rather than later to be safe. With the holiday shopping season right around the corner, and a large order that I know we're going to be working on of them coming soon, getting your order in earlier means they will be done in plenty of time. Right now we're running at about 3 weeks from order to shipment.
Car looks nice in sunset gold, very tastefully done!

I know this is an old post and old thread but those grabber blue SHR louvers look badass

For anyone in Florida or willing to drive silver horse racing will install the louvers for an additional fee. That's the route I'm taking when I save up the cash for them.

I think it is the best thing I did to my Mustang for looks and safety.

I'm a little disappointed they didn't go on sale before Christmas.
I have been waiting patiently, to save some money on this. My patience is at it's end! They should be ordered and on my car by the end of Febuary, unless I get distracted by something else!
