New Boss/CS valance fitted

Been meaning to do this for a while. The grill fogs are less than useless in terms of light output and I feel if you are using them in low light they make the car seem narrower than it is to oncoming traffic.

The valance was delivered by Ron a couple of weeks ago and the first job on returning to the UK was to fit it.

The part was ordered through Stang Mods and was well packed, the kit included the wire loom pigtails and Ford installation instructions which involved fully removing the bumper cover.

I decided to do the install myself and followed this guys very good guide

http://www.allfordmustangs.com/forum...-pictures.html

which did not require removal of the bumper.

There were a couple of differences though. Firstly two push pin clips were installed on my car not mentioned in the text. Looking at the new part it was obvious where they went.

Removal of the valance went to plan until I got to the end screws on the upper side of each end of the valance.

I found them impossible to get at. So on inspection it was apparent the 2 screws near the fogs were the only thing holding the entire bumper assembly in place. So off they came and I removed the entire bumper.
This allowed easy access to the end screws and it was easier to work on the valance once the bumper was off the car. From here on in I followed the Ford instructions which while having seemingly bewildering pictures reading pre-install it all becomes clear when looking at the car.

Reassembly was a doddle. I did the job without jacking up the car. I removed the bumper and left overnight and fitted the valance the next morning. The total time was about 2 1/2 hours.

I have considered the Boss 302 grill but as the car is not a Boss I have held off, it's still under consideration as I like the Boss style grill.
