I was mad for a minute, then I realized that I have the genuine ford parts.. I'm still mad, just less. The upper and lower full replacements look good though.

Yeah I really like the black upper/lower combo

Especially for only $190 for both ... lol

Nice price for a nice grille combo! Has anyone thought about relocating the fogs to the center of the lower grille for the Eleanor look?

I wonder if this looks weird with the pony and fogs behind it. I will have to wait for some customer pics I guess

From the description in the link above : "This 7 bar retro upper grille has a very unique design that allows you to keep your stock factory fog lights intact behind the grille or you can remove them altogether, the choice is up to you! This upper grille is a replacement grille that requires removing your stock factory grille."

So you have to remove the stock grille and it's pony and install the new billet grille with the slats.

Kinda what I've always wanted that I never knew I wanted ... LOL

I've been thinking of the horizontal-slats grille ever since I bought my Mustang, with the option of replacing the stock foglights with the California Special fogs, but I don't like the light output of the CS fogs and I don't want to get HID's for the fogs, so this would be the best of all worlds ... giving me the horizontal-slats look while I'd get to keep the stock LED fogs that I actually like

Ah okay. Their instructions that show an upper overlay which is obviously wrong.
How hard is it to remove the upper and replace with the new one?
Bumper have to be removed?

I just read the instructions and these are OVER_LAYS. Sorry I don't want over-lays. I think they look like crap IMO.

Step 1:
Place the Phillips head screws through the tabs in the grille as shown. ***GT grille is shown, steps are the same for both V6 & GT upper grilles***

Step 2:
Thread the toggle nuts onto the screws from the back of the factory grille, making sure the tabs make contact with areas of the grille where they will be secure once tightened.

Step 3:
Once the toggle nuts are making contact with the back of the factory grille, tighten the screws from the front with a Phillips head screwdriver. ***Be sure not to over-tighten the screws***

I think that those instructions are only for the models that have cutouts for the fogs (GT model) or the pony (V6 model) ...

When I look at the description for THIS V6 grille I see "This Mustang upper grille is an overlay that attaches over the stock factory upper grille."

But when I look at THIS model that hides the fogs behind it, I see "This upper grille is a replacement grille that requires removing your stock factory grille."

So it looks to me like American Muscle is still uploading stuff about these new grilles ... hopefully sometime very soon they'll have the actual instructions about how to install the replacement models ...

Thumbs down

I believe that both examples are overlays even though one has the pony on it .The instructions clearly show them as being attached to the stock grille. In addition, the price is too low to be a complete replacement grille. They also look a little light and perhaps even flimsy compared to the Roush or C/S pieces.

Lol you read my mind...I was thinking the same thing. I was going to do the bottom since Roush isn't going to release their bottom open grille. So that got me to thinking what you have thought of too..cut it all out. I wish there was a way to mount the tri pony emblem upfront somehow....hmmm.

All and all I like it.

to do the lowers though, you'd actually have to physically cut into the bumper as well.

Pull your lower off, it's not wide open back there

Just keep the black stripes Dani, they go with the black top.
