There's no way I can make the next ecoboost battle so I'm trying to finish the car over the winter and have it tuned and ready to race as soon as the snow melts here.

I'll be taking it back to Florida this winter for tuning, I should be able to make some passes there. I'm hoping around the first of December.

You're one of the only people that can probably relate to this, but does the question "why didn't you just Coyote swap it" annoy you? And what do you answer? It's gotten to the point that I can't take my car anywhere without someone asking me this and it's definitely getting old. Rather than explaining all the little reasons I usually just say I wanted to do something different and change the topic. A lot of people love the idea, but at the same time it seems that a lot of people just don't get it. But considering how much the car community loves to bash cookie cutter cars, I wasn't expecting so many people to suggest a Coyote Mustang.

Hahaha, yes I understand perfectly. My answer is simple,

Q. Why didn't you swap in a coyote
A. What's special about that? Show me another one just like mine

I'm only in the early stages of my Ecoboost into '67 Falcon swap and I get the same question.
Trouble is that I'm not as polite as you two and they get "it's my car and I'll build it the way I want". Seems to be a conversation killer though.....

Hi guys, anyone doing an ecoboost swap join the ecoboost swap Facebook page. There's lots of technical info and people to help. Anyone interested in ecoboost or owns an ecoboost check out ecoboost talk on Facebook, pretty cool.

I dropped of my trans to be rebuilt with the new input shaft and clutches and a deeper pan. It should be done about the same time the engine makes its way back to me.

Just read this whole thread over the last couple of days. All I have to say is WOW!

I had a 2013 F-150 with the Ecoboost and loved the motor... Until it went Kaboom. I was having PCM issues while I was update my SCT with a new tune and it just started acting weird... thought I had it figured out but it hit a boost spike that went past the 2.5bar MAP and put a hole in the block via the #1 piston rod. When you were talking about pushing 25+psi boost I was just sitting here going Noooooooooooooo!

Anyways, just amazing thread and I hope to see this thing do crazy things.

P.S. I live in Northeastern Colorado so I love this is coming from Colorado.

Thanks man, that sucks to hear about your motor! Wow, what a pita. I'm glad you posted something I've needed to update the thread. Btw I should be at bandimiere with the car ready to race the day it opens after winter.

Update

Transmission is at DKR transmission being rebuilt with new clutches and shaft. It was supposed to be ready this week but something happened to the owner that put him in the hospital. He doesn't know when he can be back to work, I told him I would wait.

The engine is nearly finished, there was a huge delay in getting a torque plate for honing it, it's something I insisted on and it was a pita to get someone to make it.

I've decided to make a 3D printed intake manifold for the new motor, we will be using an aluminum spacer between it and the engine that will house the injectors. An engineer friend is helping me with that.

I'm debating switching to presicion turbos instead of the Borg warners, since I'm top mounted I can use any brand. Particularly the TA58 which produces 610 hp each, 2x.

I'll be wiring up the 2 step and the transbrake with the new engine.

My goal is to be dialed in for NMRA in Florida March 3rd, that my goal and should be achievable. It's been pretty boring with the engine gone, I'm just waiting for it to get back. I can't do much like it sets.

My motor got covered under warranty somehow. Sorry to everybody for jacking up prices on their vehicles by blowing it up but... I saved a ton of cash letting them replace it lol.

I havent been to the drag strip in over two years now. The high DA's make it much less fun than the -1000 I used to get when working in Louisiana. But, I can always line my bolt on 3V next to your six banger and get my *** kicked.

Hi guys, been a while since an update here. I've built a custom intake manifold recently, added port injectors and individual nitrous injectors. It's got blow out discs in case of nitrous backfires. I designed it and hauled all the parts to Excessive Motorsports in Florida where he welded it all together. I think it turned out great!

Thanks guys

The block had the deck closed with a 1" thick piece of aluminum, this closes the gap around the sleeves, they are basically floating at the top of a stock block. After the plate was installed Excessive Motorsports machined the block to smooth it out for the head to seat properly.
