Max HP on the 3.7 engine
#62
Spankintime performance in San Bernardino, CA and I have been working on a 3.7 procharged 2011 Mustang for almost 3 years. I just put 1000 miles on a basic, break-in tune and now the car is back with the tuner for a final dyno tune. Everything that was powder metal has been replaced (rods, oil pump gears) Heads have been flowed, valves replaced, valve springs custom wound by Crower, cams sprayed and reground. Crank has been stroked, and bore has been bored out to 4.0L. Forged pistons and forged rods by Carillo. New torque converter from Circle D. Modified crank pulley from ATI. We should be at 650 to 700 hp shortly. Plenty of torque with the engine mods. I'll be posting dyno results shortly. Check out fastfordmuscle.com for my build thread. westcoastsc.

Don't know what the max HP these motors can take, but with my procgarger setup I'm very happy. My setup is procgarger D1SC with 3.7" pulley, BBK. shorties, Lethal O/R h pipe, Borla S, Axle Exchange DS and 3.31 gears. I'm at 418 whp/ 387 torq. on 7 lb. boost. Makes me smile every time I hit boost and at the fuel pump. Averaging 22 mpg. So in. My eyes, I have the best of both worlds.

Don't waste your time on the 3.7???? I guess supras are a waste too LOL imo if the supra is as strong and nasty as it is this 3.7 can same sure surpass it!!! I want to know W/O forged internals what stock 3.7 can take HP and torque Wise

2014 V6 Mustang
I Have A 2014 V6 Mustang, I’ve Spent About 18-20k On it, I Have It Procharged, Running at 8.7 pounds of boost, Running On e85, And A 50Shot, . A lot Of Things Were Added, But I Have It At A Safe Street Tune At 461WHP. Stock Engine, the Tune Was On Stock Rear End Gears. I Recently Changed Them To 3.73 Gears. But Haven’t Dynoed It After The Gears Switched Out

On an alternate forum someone named solobusa blew his 3.7 at 650 crank hp. His goal was 1k rwhp. He mentioned the internals that you speak of. Ill post the link to that forum when I get home from work. Check out AllFordMustangs forum. That should give an idea about what you are up against. Solobusa lost his motor at 550 rwhp running a procharger and E85 gas.
I am working on a sleeper as well, but don't want to go higher than 450rwhp. That would place the crank hp at 550 which is nearing the breaking point of the stock 3.7 from what I have read. Ill simply be adding a procharger and a second custom dyno tune and all should be good.
Oh and in case you were wondering, after blowing his stock and two purpose built motors, he is going to a turbo setup rather than a supercharger.

You wouldn't. He would, he made the thread. As would I. I also have a six, never at all want anything more. I love modding this thing. Doesn't matter what liter engine it is when your putting out power and enjoy what you've got. I've got another car that has a v8 in it both are equally enjoyed

Don't go and get all defensive. I'm pushing over 600hp and it ain't enough for me. This is about building a fast car if I'm reading it right. If this thread is about just making a powerful V6 just to do it, hell more power to you. My opinion is unless you're building a Supra or GTR, just get a V8. I've been beat by a supra and a RX7. No big deal. There's always somebody faster. But the fastest sixer mustangs usually come with a team of builders, piles of money, and probably an engineer or two. The 3.7 wasn't designed or is really capable of sustaining the kind of power you guys are talking about. It's an easy $15k+ build to get it to perform. $2k crank kit ain't gonna cut it. Not trying to **** on the dream. Just being honest.

I have a turbo kit for my 3.7 all ready and i am just scared i will blow my motor is the problem i am hoping to be at about 450 to the crank you think ill be good with stock internals with about 15 psi?

I have 2017 Procharged 3.7, with a Griptec 3.625 pulley and a Snow Performance water meth kit, with ported upper and lower intake manifolds and longtube headers. 12.5 psi. My car is about 450-460Rwhp. The tune allows for more timing if I run Octane booster. This is my daily driver. Zero issues. I got a few buddies running 500+ with zero issues.
