Your the only person I have heard say they don't trust any dyno tunes. Any reputable performance shop will not over aggressively tune your car if you don't want that type of aggressive tune. A reputable performance shop will do the tune perfect using a dyno and diagnostic of your specific car. Just my 2 cents. I would get a dyno tune done if I were to supercharge mine. Just trying to look out for you bro
You need to do a bit more studying if you think dyno tunes are by "default" safer than the canned procharger tune. Read around. Every blown 3.7 was on a dyno tune. It's not easy to tune these new high tech engines.

The procharger tune is very conservative. There's no need to look out for me. I datalogged and kept a close eye on the AFR before I became comfortable with the tune. Procharger doesn't specifically tune with the mods I have. It doesn't mean they aren't safe. Just that they won't warranty it since it isn't specifically what they they developed their tune with. Procharging your vehicle and "dyno tuning" it isn't a fire and forget endeavor. It requires you to study and make sure your car is running safe. Do what you want though. Get a procharger and go to the "reputable" tuner who knows everything there is to know about dyno-tuning a really high tech engine like this.

A supercharged V6 on 8 lbs is faster than a 5.0, but maybe not as fast as you think. A 5.0 with a CAI and a tune is going to beat the procharged V6 on 8lbs of boost every day of the week if the drivers are equal and everything else is equal. I know...I have both the GT and a procharged V6. My GT with the CAI and tune does 12.15 in the quarter in about 1200 DA. That's on heavy 18" wheels and the stock converter in the car which can barely get near 2,000 for launching. My v6 does about 12.5. With skinnies and a higher stall, my GT will easily do under 11.9 The V6 is fast. But my GT is still faster. My v6 has more HP, but the GT still has more torque.

I hear ya but I wouldn't run a canned tune on a supercharger for long periods me personally. I would have it tuned by a reputable performance shop and set for the recommended boost levels. If you go to a reputable performance shop they know what there doing and will set safe levels. AFR will be spot on, not lean and not rich.

People may of had the tune set to run a bit more lean to gain extra power but not good for he engine. Maybe that's why they blew up. Good thing there is a Dyno tuner near me that's a mad scientist when it comes to tuning. The man is awesome, and owns performance evolution in Delaware.

True, the v6 definitely lacks torque.

My tuner got 300whp out of my V6, and is a Procharger dealer. They know what they are doing as well, so when I get the green next year they will be doing my SC install and tune. By my calculations my car should be 450whp and 550hp at the crank. That will be good enough for me.

Bro, you sound just like me with my 297 rwhp to my 3.7. I would be right there with ya with 8 pounds boost. I be at 450 rwhp give or take. Lol

Excluding the suspension I have around 3,500 worth of bolt ons including the custom dyno tune. Airaid CAI, BBK long tube headers, BBK shorty catted X pipe, Bassani axle backs, 1pc aluminum drive shaft.

I have never tracked it at a strip. If I do track it this year I may do some road courses.

Sadly I have not purchased my procharger yet. Emergency home air conditioning repairs took priority.
Looking like it will be the first mod purchase of 2015.

He has a custom turbo setup, whereas a procharger is SC. But it's still a wicked v6!!!

I'm really surprised that they got 575 at the wheels with 100 shot of juice! that's craziness. Good for them for pulling that off.

Its great to see a nice person to build a v6 mustang if you want to stay with the car for a long time it will be great but if you will just build it for just driving couple of times and then sell it you will lose money big money

I have a 2014 procharged v6, bbk throttle body, cai, LT headers, O/r X-pipe and dyno tune. I have about 426whp, I'm trying to squeak a little bit more out of the car and get 430 440.
