Trouble hooking up
Trouble hooking up
Just put a vortech on my car and took it to the track, what a joke. 1st and 2nd gear are useless with my current setup. I have 265 F1's on the rear and my car is lowered. My next step is an adjustable panhard rod to align the rear end, I was also considering putting my stock springs back up front to help shift some weight to the back. I want to hook up, but not hard enough to break something. Any advice here?
If you think you can run a junk *** F1 on a 600ish rwhp car at the track and change a panhard bar(should be on already, it's lowered) then I think you need to hit the drawling board.
Auto or Stick car?
If Auto run a M&H racemaster
Manual pick a nice soft wall tire, I run a hoosier.

Hey, nice name. I'm aware about the panhard bar, just been putting it off. I don't think the F1 should be able to handle it, but I can't even run 1st and 2nd at half throttle. This is my daily driver, what would you recommend as a street tire? It's a stick, what else besides the obvious(tires) would help me?

Yes ... you need to beep up that suspension & plant that rear end.
If you would like ... we can put a package together for you ... you can send an email to tim@steeda.com. Let me know your budget & we can see what we can get you into.

TJ

Knowing the budget helps us assist the situation. As a courtesy to the OP ... we ask to be emailed because we can respond much faster via email than logging in and finding the threads we have already responded to.
He should run our Adjustable UCA, 555-4112, UCA Mount 555-4027, Lower control arms 555-4405 and LCA relocation brackets, 555-8119. That will get the weight to transfer on to the rear tires and get the car to hook. (Some drag radials would help too) Also getting weight off the front of the car with our lightweight radiator support. 555-5080

A proper drag radial with a tall sidewall is all you need to hook up. Okay, maybe an adjustable upper rear control arm if you have axle hop. Otherwise, you should be good to go.....
