Trackey for manual 2014 GT's manufactured after 7/1/2013
Thanks Ray for the answer on the EO and part #'s and for all you're doing here. I definitely don't want to go through that debacle again and I'm glad none of the #'s are changing. GMPP and CARB really goofed that one up, and our shop and the referee paid for it fin 3 months of insanity, and a very disgruntled customer (Not to discount a very disgruntled, ME!). It all worked out in the end though and that is one of our best customers to-date.
*****So to everyone on here that is concerned or having cat issues.... (Who wouldn't be right? ..I sure as hell was at first)
I don't know everything and anything is definitely possible here. I've been through all the CA emissions courses, etc, have done a few emissions related diags and repairs here and there, and I understand the rigorous testing that FRPP had to go through to get the tune to pass OE standards in 50 states.
Ray is correct in saying that they would not be able to get that EO # and decal if the tune was potentially melting cats (NOT CLOGGING THEM LIKE A FILTER as it was mentioned prior, as that is not how a cat works). ~A cat melt-down will cause blockage because it turns the inside into a molten brick. Other failures include the cat breaking apart, and that could also cause blockage in the cat, AND elsewhere in the exhaust.
I firmly believe for the very few guys that have had their cats melt or come apart, they probably had a flaw to begin with. THAT IS ON FORD, NOT FRPP.
Now, could the extra fuel from the tune itself AND the lopey idle be the straw that broke the camel's back? ..Sure, hell yes! Is that bad? ..Not necessarily. I live by the rule, "test your stuff, put it through it's paces" and make sure it's going to live!
For those of us with plenty of warranty left on our cars (7 years for emissions in most cases) LET'S RELAX and enjoy what this tune has to offer. Hell, even with the CEL issue and a little cat smell here and there I still love mine.
Cat smell is normal when they are working, and honestly a little "lightning-off" of the cats is healthy and keeps them clean.
I actually like the idea of putting the cats to the test, and if they fail, they were probably going to fail anyhow.
Like I said, I don't know everything but I do have faith that FRPP is doing the right thing here. My car has had the CEL issue and I've been driving the car a LOT. SO far no failed or "clogged"/melted or broken cats, and I really like the tune.
Also good news in my situation, some of you may try this... I recently restored the original tune, drove around for a few days and no CEL at all. I was getting the CEL every day with the Track Cal at that point so I thought I would reset things and clear the PCM's "head" a bit. I've re-loaded the track cal since and it's been a few days now, CEL has not returned and the car is running great. ...arguably better than before.
If anything changes I will be the first to let everyone know, and hell if there is a major catalyst failure outbreak and it's without a doubt caused by the track tune, then I will shut up and bow to the almighty inevitable "out of my control and **** happens" factor, get mine replaced under factory warranty, and try something else!
Meanwhile, I'm having fun and enjoying my Track Cal. I hope everyone else does the same!
For those of you that are waiting to buy yours, definitely talk to Ray and Mike and make sure it's the updated one.
That's my $.02! ~Turning a negative into a positive here.

Well said bwkelley. Agree with all of your note.
I am very happy with my Track Key as well. I have switched back and forth a few times now and the Track Key just makes the car more fun. The Lopey Idle, better deceleration, improved throttle response, deceleration burble and popping, just bring out the best in this car. I am even thinking about adding the Boss type side pipes to my GT500 mufflers just to add to the symphony.
Looking forward to how the car works at my next track day at the new Thompson Speedway in CT on July22.

Clogged or melted all I know is my car ran like crap and had no power. Ford changed out the cats and it is now running good again. I ran the car all day today on the Trackey tune and so far no CEL.
For those that were at Mustang Week in Myrtle Beach today...this ran SUCKED

Thank you. Your help is appreciated.
I think the tool was referring to people with the procal tool and the tune already installed. I'm not sure how those with the key already installed will get the revision but Ray said they won't have to back to the dealer. In your case you don't have the tune installed on the key yet. So I asked above if the system will get the new revision so that on Saturday when you go, you'll have the new tune the first time.
Thanks Ray. How do I reach you on Friday to see if I am getting the latest software?
I will be going to Palm Bay Ford in Florida at 12 pm this Saturday.

~Tends to happen with bad cats, no bueno. Glad to hear you're giving the track tune a chance with the new cats. Keep us posted on how things go. Any upstream mods on your car other that the track tune, or is it all stock from cats to air filter?
no upstream mods on my car. only mods are all from the cats back

Hopefully the update will take care of this.
Starting to think I should return the track key and get my suspension instead.

Hello again,
Yeah I remember you mentioning that. Thanks for your advise.
I'm going to keep it and go to my appointment tomorrow.
I am very impressed with Ford Racing's customer service and I have to say that talking with Ray 1 on 1 on the phone has reinforced my confidence in the product.
I will definitely post videos etc and give you guys feedback on the Track Key and how it's working. And thank you to everyone who is posting their experiences and making this a better mod for us.

Comments: codes showed up while cruising not using track key, but had accidentally filled tank with 87 Octane and codes showed up 350 miles into that tank, track key was NEVER inserted during that tank of fuel. I ran tank to empty then filled up on 93 and took to dealership, the car runs fine and nothing sounds or smells unusual, they told me tech line said to order cats and are on back order. It seems like a tune issue imo. Side note: engine brake in deceleration is not as pronounced as I feel it should be, overall very satisfied with trackey.

You would have to install a cold air intake that has no tune with it. Examle being, my Roush cold air intake does not require a tune. The track key or cal would overwrite the one you have. Basically you would be running the track key tune.
