I am going to try this although not sure if it will help for what I'm going for. It's not WOT when the noise bothers me, it's at half throttle when the engine sounds like its doing a lot but I'm only trying to barely accelerate that annoys the hell out of me.

Ok I went to 2 Lowes and was told the cap is discontinued (they only carry up to 1in). If you call ahead you can ask them if the have part #45654 that is in store #. If anyone has an extra Id love to get it from you. The firewall gasket was perfect. ssstang67@aol.com or text me at 201-665-7074. Thanx Scott

Have not got the plugs yet but wanted to see what it sounded like without so I detached the hose that goes into the firewall and duck taped the hole and the hose bending it forward. WOW does the car sound so much better. You can still hear the engine but it's not overpowering like it was before. It's better from start up all the way to WOT. In a few days I will have my GT500 axle back on and it will really be sounding good

That's if you can even find the parts. The autozone by me was out of the firewall plug (I think it's a master cylinder plug if I remember correctly - in the "help" section) its listed in the beginning of the thread.
Just buy this kit. FYI for those that will use the opening in the firewall to run whatever (I will be running power wire for an amplifier) the supplied grommet has a 3/4 hole. Will get 20' of this to make it look stock;

Another Lowe's special. This one is a cap that press-fits nicely over the intake barb. A little paint takes away some of the ghetto-fabulousness of it. In truth, I prefer this over something that requires a hose clamp.

I'd have to agree. I like the look (painted, of course). Might be doing this tomorrow...

Luckily, Lowe's and AutoZone is within a quarter mile of each other in my area AND they both had said parts.

I just completed the sound tube removal on my 2013 GT. I found that the Lowes 1-3/4” plug cap does not fit. Not sure if this a 2013 change or a GT vs Boss difference. However the 1-1/2 SCH40 plug (449015 - $1.60) from Lowes fits nicely. A little bit of flat black paint and it looks like it was meant to be there.
For the firewall the brake master cylinder gasket (42098 - $6.49) from Advance Auto fit perfectly. Thanks for posting your experiences it made this a quick fix.

Taking my first road trip with her tomorrow and anxious to see how this changes the sound. Not to mention having a chance to drive her for several hours.

I painted the coil covers with Krylon gloss cherry from Walmart. That's the first coat. I intend to add a couple more coats and clear. Krylon has changed there paint - you either multi-coat within a short time or have to wait several days. I didn't catch that in time to do multiple coats the same day so I'm waiting.
I found the badges on Ebay. I thought they might look good so I'd tried them. Just something a little different.

BTW - I've only had her 2 weeks and I've put several hundred road miles on this weekend. Love every minute of it.
