I will say one thing. I jacked up the rear of the car today to rotate my tires and try out my new Racemasters...and the mufflers drained again. If you have drilled your holes where I drilled, you may want to consider periodically jacking up the rear or putting it on ramps to assist the mufflers with drainage.

That is all, carry on.

Sorry but those mufflers would be going back to Roush. Thats BS to have to periodically jack your car up to drain water out of MUFFLERS!!!

Is this moisture that is getting in from heating and cooling of the exhaust system or is this from rain and washing the car?

Sorry for the big pics, but I finally got my replacements on today. One thing I did notice is that the welds on the replacements are thicker than the old ones. Roush was 10000% helpful through the whole process and never gave me a hard time. My only complaint is the car is a little quieter until these new ones break in =/ lol

old ones with crack

Replacements

New and old side by side

I am having trouble uploading the video, but this is how much water came out of my **** driver side muffler

Just a little mustang **** I decided to add ;]

I have to say its pretty sad that roush put out such a crappy product especially for the prices they charge.

They sound sooooo good though, thats the sad part too. I originally wanted either the borla atak axlebacks or the S-type catback, but for the price I went with these. I would say I am sorry I went with roush, but they did replace them without any hassle

I hate to say it, but unless you drill hole's in the new one's, that amount of water will build up in the new one's too.

Eh, whatever. It doesn't bother me. They are mufflers. Mufflers are a component that is subject to wear and tear. I drilled the weep holes to prevent them from rusting. It is no big deal to put the car on ramps every once in a while. However, I also washed the car today and some water was sprayed up the mufflers when rinsing the tips.

To me, it is worth it because the mufflers sound down right amazing.

If anyone is looking to go Borla/FRPP instead of Roush the M-5230-MGTCA are at Jeggs right now for $375. I'm pretty sure they have them mixed up with the M-5230-MGTCA1 which are the GT500 mufflers, but hey, get 'em while they're hot imo.

Unless they send you GT500 mufflers, for which you paid $125 too much. LOL.

Let me just say this.

They didn't. They drop ship right from Ford, and they are in fact MGTCAs.

Ok. And you bought a set?

Edit. Just verified myself and they're apparently the FRPP TOURING ab's. Jegs probably has a lot they're trying to unload.

Either way, they are quieter than the Roush's, if someone wanted those they wouldn't be in this thread. So back on topic.

They are the touring models. Anyone that likes Roush, those FRPPs aint gonna cut it. But that price is killer, they are $650 mufflers

So, I just saw this forum about roush mufflers leaking and read all the posts. I purchased my roush axle back in march 2011 paid the $359 like most people having the problem and have no rust. I live in Washington sate where it rains 11 out of the 12 months. It seems like I'm the only one not having issues. As far as other exhaust systems go, nothing sounds as nice as the roush. (at least for me) So even if I did have issues I would get new ones.

Just had another thought??? After my car warms up sometimes I'll rev the car up and a little water comes out of the exhaust. I also drive my car like you are supposed to. I drive it hard without abusing it. Maybe??? (don't know) but some of the people are having the issues because they don't get on it enough??

I had a friend following me one day and she called me and said there is water coming out of your exhaust everytime you accelerate, and I was driving normally.

I am just going to drill a hole in mine, cause when I went to swap out my over the axle pipes, I shook the muffler and they are filled with water again and only 2 weeks old.

Ah ok...gotcha. I think maybe a couple doughnuts after a wash should get the water out then.
