Kooks Super Street headers

Installed the Kooks Super Street headers on saturday along with their axlebacks. It wasn't necessarily a hard install, just time consuming. Dropping the k member made things much easier.

A GoPro vid afterward.

Sounds great. That's some awesome offset on the rear wheel/tire. I was waiting for it to rub the whole time while I was watching this. What other exhaust mods do you have?

Was a very smooth install... especially with the k member dropped.

When dropping the K do you have to worry about the frame flexing or misalignment?

Nope. Just unplug the steering rack, knock the tie rods loose, and take the cross bolt out of the bottom of the spindles. Support the engine and k member separately and remove the nuts on top of the motor mounts and the 4 nuts and 4 bolts that hold the k member on. Goes pretty quick and gives you some room to work.

Just got my car back yesterday from my installer with these headers, I kept my cats but even with the cats i feel the gains, and its a bit louder. My installer did it the hard way took him 8 hours. It was his 1st coyote header install , he thought it would be as easy as the 05-10 stangs...no way...lol. Headers are a must for a supercharged car? Go get some!

Nice! I want a pair of long tubes soooo bad, but these might be the ticket for me to slide past the smog police out here!

The sound is awesome. What do we know about HP gains? Long tubes seem capable of producing in the neighborhood of 35 - 40 hp improvement with a proper tune. Are these an improvement? Are there tests that are more reliable than the seat of pants dyno???

From http://www.svtperformance.com/forums...l#post13200887

"Initial testing of these headers showed an increase of 10 rear wheel horsepower and 8 foot pounds of torque at peak, and an average of 14 rear wheel horsepower and 13 foot pounds of torque in the mid range!! Not too bad for being hooked up the STOCK mid-pipe and catalytic converters. When combining the Kooks Super Street Headers with a high flow H-Pipe, JDM recorded an increase of 8 rear wheel horsepower and 10 foot pounds of torque at peak and even more (10-15) in the mid-range power band!! Add these figures up and you’ll see a gain of nearly 20 wheel horsepower and 23 foot pounds at peak and 25 horsepower and 30 foot pounds in the mid-range!! Now you’re in long tube header power gains!!"
