Yes Ive heard quite a few, the extremes seem to be just as loud as the s type at full throttle paired with an off road x but down low and at start up the extremes seem to be much quieter and have a less deep tone I think. Thats why I ultimately went with the s types

Don't know if this means anything or not, but the Borlas are available in 304 grade SS.. The Ford performance are only available in 409 grade SS with polished 304 SS tips

The 409 SS matches the rest of the stock exhaust system and should easily last the last the life of the vehicle under normal conditions (extreme weather where brine/precipitation being a possible exception) from my understanding. The 304 SS parts can handle pretty much anything.

I totally agree with your post.. My preference for 304 SS over 409, is for cosmetic reasons.. As 304 SS does not leave traces of surface rust or blemishes where on the other hand 409 grade SS clearly does, even though it doesn't corrode through..

Just out of curiosity, does anyone know what the tips of the Borlas are made of? I want to go ahead and begin polishing them but am unsure if I should be using chrome polish or something like mothers Mag polish
