Coil on plug upgrade?

As anyone installed one of the coil on plug high energy coils on their 2011-2013 mustang gt's? Any difference? Worth the $500?

I've never bought into the upgraded coils. I come from the LS world, and most of the fastest cars around still run the factory coils. The MSD's that are out look good, but not justified in my opinion. IIRC, unless you tune the car for increased dwell time, they're no better than stock.

I don't buy into it either. OEM Ford coil packs rock.

The OEM ones are excellent in this motor. If you're really wanting to upgrade them then I'd give these a look.

Yes...I saw this in a recent magazine write up...dont know who manufactures these for them, but still hard to believe the numbers...in my case I have a blower on my '11 GT and the extremes coils claim25 HP gain for $700 bucks...ouch!

I personally wouldn't upgrade them unless I was building a motor. Just one of those things you do in the process of the build. But yes, $700 for 25HP almost isn't worth it.

I wouldn't use after market ever.
Nothing made more power than OEM cop's on my heavily built Lightning.
And I mean Nothing. Save the money or use it elsewhere.

Thanks for all of the good advice. What to do with 700 smackers now then? Already did suspension and blower. Was thinking of upgrading my 2011 GT to those nice new factory Recaros...wonder if a direct fit?
