Just the tips right? I read somewhere the mufflers are the same with different or larger tips.

I've actually had two of them come over and tell me they hear me every morning, but they love the sound and don't mind it a bit. Totally caught me off guard.

Im still not convonced that they're al that loud to bystanders. As mentioned previously, the tips are angled down which supposedly reduces the sound to everyone but the driver.

Still waiting for road-side video...i havent had a chance to film it myself.

Once you get it installed, you need to do the restrictor plate removal: it'll scare women, cause children to wet themselves and give you a testosterone high. Just sayin'

Why would you put the plates in in the first place? I'll hold onto them for track days or if I can't stand it (which I doubt will happen), but they'll be the first part out of the box.

Again...i think the volume from curbside is lower than what is experienced in the cockpit. A least, this was a design intent for the down-turned pipes.

I never ran mine with the restrictor plates in...and from the driver's seat at least, the sound is absolutely ideal.

Yup mine are still in the plastic bag they came in. So glad I didn't install them.

All I know is I run the sidepipes unrestricted, with a Roush muffler set, and it is LOUD. I like it.

Well I consider myself pretty savvy and the procedure is theoretically pretty simple (remove some nuts and bolts, remove stock H pipe, insert new parts, bolt in place, done) but today I was faced with severe frustration and disappointment.

First I got to feel that exited feeling this afternoon when the UPS guy arrived with my new side exhaust. Opened it up and decided to put it on right then and there in my garage.

Jacked one side of the car up (high!) and put it on jack stands and went under the car on my creeper. First thing I noticed was that the bolts on the front clamps of the factory H pipe have virtually no clearance around them whatsoever. I could not fit a socket wrench in there at all, and even a normal wrench would barley go in and when I did get it on there it had absolutely no play whatsoever. To make matters worse my 5.0 has 30K plus of hard miles on it. Needless to say I could not budge the bolt at all not even a tiny bit. So now my brand new H pipe and side exhaust is just sitting in my garage on a shelf near my car and I am powerless to do anything about it. Apparently I will have to have this installed at a shop

What idiot decided to have those bolt facing up rather than down? Here I was expecting this to be a nice fairly stress free afternoon project. Now I am just really pissed off and I am actually considering just sending the Boss side exhaust back and save myself the headache, not to mention the $$$. I'm THAT pissed

I have 484 miles on mine so I am hoping it will come apart without too much hassle. I have lots of skinny racketing wrenches and sockets.... Dealer wanted $180 to install this. I thought that was way too much. I may call a muffler shop tomorrow.....

I remember swapping the X pipe in and dealing with the upside down clamps. I was calling Ford engineers every name in the book! I flipped mine around after I took it off in the event I ever install it again that it goes on easily.

I think I unthreaded everything and put the bolt through the bottom to gain access to it.
