New program from Ford on 2012 GT500 leftovers!!!!
Hey all, with the talk of the 2013 GT500 in full swing, I wanted to post some interesting info I found today while playing around on the computer at work. A friend of mine works for Xerox, so he gets X-Plan. The 2012 GT500s have been eligible for the discount all year pretty much (there are ALOT of cars still sitting at dealers). With that, my customer remembered a few years back, that Ford had trouble sellling the 2009s when the 2010 was 1st shown and Ford did something to help with that. They put a program on the car to help sell them. That program was extra money to help lower the price.
Great news as that program is back and its a $2,500 "retail marketing allowance program" to help unload the 2012s. Now that said, the program should be in most markets. I tried a few ZIP codes, and Florida worked, PA worked, but I tried Wyoming and it wasn't there. So it will be based on residency and ZIP code. If you want to know if your area has it, just PM me your ZIP.
But in short, you can get X-Plan PLUS up to an additional $2,500 off a 2012 GT500 IF you can find a dealer who will honor X-Plan (they would be dumb not too as the 2012s will sit once the 2013s arrive) and give some of the money from this program. I already spoke to my boss. I am able to sell my friend a 2012 GT500 at X-Plan and use all the $2,500 (as long as the car is somewhat close by) Whatever it takes to sell a car. Just waiting for him to call me back.
Just wanted to pass this information ahead to anyone on here. Thought it was interesting and worth letting you all know. Any questions, let me know.

For a 2012, you can save some pretty good money with this program.

I figure savings of this type would take place just as it did for the '04 SVT Cobra at the end of its production. At a $7,500 savings anyone who is considering long term fun a GT500 will be fantastic.
Hey bud, while the prices aren't out yet, I do believe a GT500 with SVTPP, Recaros, Electronics Package and the Glass roof will be around $62K or so. A current 2012 is just under $60K now, and a few thousand bump sounds about right.

And yes, for a 2012 that's an *incredible* deal.

Only this one won't be advertised on the window of the cars in the showroom next to the factory sticker. This past summer I saw an '11, and '12 on dealer showroom floor in Maine, both with the SVTPP, and I had the salesman start one up for me so I could hear just how awesome it sounds. Their '12 had a 10k ADM on it, and I just looked at the sales guy and said that I know because these aren't selling, that they are eligible for X-Plan. If I was ready to buy that day, I have no doubt I could have got the silver '11 for X-plan, maybe even the '12? Who knows...?
They have since sold the '12, and the '11 is now being advertised as a demo.
