While surprised they didn't put a little more tire out back, I'm not going to freak until I start seeing performance numbers. The G2 tire outperforms the original F1 Supercar by a long shot, and with the gearing changes and addition of launch control, they may be just fine. Don't get caught up in the "magazine racing" just yet.

Nope
As much as I really do not have to argue with you about it, I'll play just to hear it. OK then by your logic what is it then? Those who made the car call it a 2012, when someone goes to finance it it will be a 2012, and in 2013 if they go to trade it in it will be a used 2012. That's generally how that stuff works.

That's what I was thinking theres more too it than just a bump in power.

If my 6GT3 comes with 295's, rear weight bias and 380hp then yes the Shelby needs at least 305's and bigger would be better.

A 315 only gives you an inch more tread over a 285. Pointless, although I agree wider would be better.

Haha, no RWD car will ever come close to Godzilla on a street tire launch! Those AWD cars are so sick out of the hole.

Agreed but complaining for an inch more pointless and I hope you don't get all your info from motor trend. Hahaha

Of course not, do you have a better video that proves the gt500 needs more tire?

Well instead of thinking about width think about contact patch. Just because the tire is wider doesn't necessarily mean you will gain more contact area. 1" extra width might not make quite the difference you'd expect.

Of course it could use more tire but what's going to control 600lbs? 305 no 315 no 385?

I'm really surprised that the Shelby didn't at least start catching them.
Guess I'll keep the modded terminator for now.
Well, better luck next year guys.

Just saying if 385 is the number. What's the wheel size on that?

I never gave a numerical size? I trust that someone in the design room would have said " Hmm you know we did just give this car 100 more hp. You think we should give it more rubber?"

Bean counters " No it would cost 5 dollars per car plus 11SHELBYGT500 will prove everyone wrong"
