Camaro ZL1 Chief Engineer says "You're Welcome" to Ford Mustang fans
While surprised they didn't put a little more tire out back, I'm not going to freak until I start seeing performance numbers. The G2 tire outperforms the original F1 Supercar by a long shot, and with the gearing changes and addition of launch control, they may be just fine. Don't get caught up in the "magazine racing" just yet.

Well instead of thinking about width think about contact patch. Just because the tire is wider doesn't necessarily mean you will gain more contact area. 1" extra width might not make quite the difference you'd expect.

I never gave a numerical size? I trust that someone in the design room would have said " Hmm you know we did just give this car 100 more hp. You think we should give it more rubber?"
Bean counters " No it would cost 5 dollars per car plus 11SHELBYGT500 will prove everyone wrong"
