Me too! I was going to go ahead and get some "current" GT500 Brembos for my 2011 5.0, but I'm going to wait and see what the 2013 GT500 brings to the table first.

yeah u should tell that to lucas ordonez. Oh wait, he does know how to drive a p2 prototype car.

on a street car, IRS is better when it comes to road irregularities or potholes.

SRA just doesnt have the confidence inspiring feel. Even though my car is faster than a lot of sports cars priced in the same range, the suspension just doesnt feel solid.

I've driven my cousins new tsx and that feels waaaay better than my mustang. The ride is better with a way more confidence inspiring setup.

I've heard it all before and you are plain wrong. You just don't know how to drive an SRA.

And what about the broken half shafts I heard about this weekend from France to Montreal, hmmm? How many spin outs & wrecks did I see after hitting bumps, curbs, driving off the edge of pavement with IRS? I lost count. It's not the "needed edge" so many (falsley) claim.

You can sit in your hole is you want to but IRS is coming.

Which would you rather have, a mediocre IRS, or a good SLA? Your argument is simply the ill-informed one that has been around since 2005. Time and time again, Ford has proven that the design works, and that you don't need to change it (right now) to appease the public. I challenge anyone who hasn't driven a BBP equipped GT to drive one compared to a Camaro 2SS on similar roads and see which one "feels" better.

I will take a GOOD IRS setup over a GOOD solid axle setup any day.

My only worry is whether or not Ford gets it right. I'd rather have a good solid axle setup over a medicore IRS.

I totally agree. If the performance is identical, I'd prefer the IRS for day to day driving. If the SLA outperforms the IRS, then I'll take the better performing option any day of the week.

I agree 100%

From my personal experience: Brembo GT vs. Nissan 370Z Sport vs. Porsche Cayman S.

The Brembo GT and the Nissan 370Z are very close in terms of feel. SRA with the Mustang and IRS with the Z... they both instill about the same level of confidence in corners and over bumps. There are only a few areas where you feel like the Z's rear suspension is superior, and that's over severe bumps (where you wouldn't be driving fast to begin with) or some very quick, tight transitions (Auto X -- but even then it is very minimal).

Now the Cayman S...

Most people have no clue of what type of suspension is in the car or the difference between how they act or feel.
Majority of the people believe what you tell them to believe.

"I hear this is better, and therefore it must be"
Goes with anything though.

Case in point, look at Apple...

have to agree with this, if/when they switch to IRS most mustang buyers will only notice that it rides better around town not knowing why because 90% are just buying for style not looking to probe its racetrack handling limits.

Well, from what "they've" said about the SLA in the current car, they feel it's the best option on the market of the pony cars.
