But what is the reasoning by these sources?

And do you agree with them or just saying it is going to be even though you don't like it?

Why would Ford do 35th in 1999 40th in 2004 and 45th in 2009 and then all of a sudden make the 2015 model a 50th anniversary instead of 2014?
Ford DID NOT. 64 1/2 was termed by mustang fans to separate the mustangs that came out with the upgraded motor options. Since those early engines were cut from production, fans started to refer to them as 64 1/2

Correct, while there were some differences all 64 1/2 models had a VIN of a 65

I don't know about Boomer, but what I've been told by sources has been spot on so far, and going forward, I trust them. That, and my crystal ball and nightly Miss Cleo chats have been giving me the same info.

Gettin' caught up in MY 2014 and CY 2014...
The minute Model Year 2014 hits...that is Mustangs 50th Anniversary...doesn't matter if the car shows up early 2013 as the 2012's are showing up early 2011...
1964 Mustang was year one...
1984 celebrated 20 years with the GT350
1994 started the 30th with the SN95
2004 finished with the SN95 with 40th Anniversary badges and Crimson or Black paint and gold stripes...the S197 was supposed to be ready but was delayed until 2005...
2014 50th Year of MUSTANG

Ford also celebrated every five years starting in 1979 with the intro to the fox body...in 1989 they did little with only a dash plaque...in 1999 the 35th anniversary Mustang could be had with special raised hood scoop with a black stripe which ran from the scoop down the front of the hood, extended side scoops, a wing-like spoiler, and a black honeycomb insert in the decklid. 45th ended S197 1st Gen cars in 2009 with fender badges, first time glass roof and only 45,000 being made....

2014 will be sweet...

I'm gonna book you two a room

OK.....how about a bit of middle ground.......I might have mentioned this idea before, but what the heck...in 2013 (possibly the last year of the current bodystyle, which would be sold as MY14) Ford releases a concept version of the next generation car as a 50th Anniversary present and this would go on sale early in 2014 as a MY15.

That's based on nothing but my daydreams

(I think we've gone slightly off topic here, too )

although it makes numerical sense in model years to have the 2014 model year be the 50th anny car. There is nothing to stop ford from fudging the numbers to make the 2015MY which will be released in calendar 2014 the 50th anniversary car. in fact that makes the best business sense to get 2 model years out of the anticipated 2013MY refresh. There is no law stating they must follow the same pattern as before, is anyone really not going to buy one because they feel so strongly the 2014MY should have been the 50th anny car?

Anyway guys, back on subject. I think the 2013 Shelby will have wider tires in the rear because I was on www.mustangevolution.com looking at teaser photos and one caught my eye. I could be wrong, but it appears to me that the tires in the back are wider. So hopefully the traction issue with the Shelby will be addressed. Here's the pic. Just in case it doesn't show up, look at the teaser photos in www.mustangevolution.com.

Very true. I wanted to buy an 11 GT500 but now I think I'll wait for this or possibly the next-gen stang. We'll see.

You missunderstood me. Thats what I said, Ford made them all 1965s. What I was saying is that Ford later accepted the 1964 fact with the way they are doing their anniversaries.

Ok, I agree they F'd UP their own history by doing that but as far as I'm concerned the birth of the best vehicle ever was 1965.

Those tires look massive. I don't think those are 20in 285's on the SVT model.

LOL!!! Yeah I think they will definately be wider, at least I hope so. I also hope it has a two stage launch control similar to the one on the Boss, some upgraded control arms to get rid of any wheel hop, and upgraded intercooler/heat exchanger.
