Cool thing is, is that we have done most of the mods ourselves in good ole Paul's garage...the gears we farmed out among a few others but the vast majority has been done by us...kinda proud of that...

Wow finally some activity. This thing has been dead all day long! Well actually for the last couple of days it has been a virtual ghost town.

How is everyone?

Let me just say that I am sick of not having my car. I hope they get it fixed the first of the week!

Hey Chris... If your going to keep her stock for a while but do some routine maintenance I would say invest in some Classic Design Concepts hood struts. Basically you can throw away your old hood prop and be able to just lift the hood and it slowly raises and no need for the prop, by far a great mod for only $100

You do get a certian sense of acomplishment doing things yourself. I also feel more secure that things are done right not half a$$ed.

No doubt!!! I always think a person's car is a reflection of them and if you go to the trouble of doing the work yourself/w friends (if possible) it always makes the car abit more personal. I can't say that about my current car but you get the idea!!

Yep CDC hood struts are a great mod! They give great peace of mind on windy days with the hood up. In Mustang at the national show the wind as whipping around really good. Lots of people had to close their hoods for fear of it flying off the prop rod. Not me. The wind gave it all it had but just couldn't break it loose. I was a firm believer after that test.

Thanks for the info.... I'm always looking for smart ideas that can be reversed if needed. My hood is fiberglass so its not a big deal but getting rid of that prop would be nice!!! I'll put that on my 'wish' list along with my thoughts on a one piece driveshaft.....That two piece has my brain spinning abit. I'm all abouit safety at my age!!!

Hood struts rock and they even raise the hood slightly higher which is good for working in the engine bay.

Jarrod are you going to use Mobil 1 full synthetic? I think we all use this and it is awesome stuff. As to the fliter, just use the Motorcraft one, it is by far the best on the market...

Chris, which one piece are you looking at? I have the Denny's and it is good. I had some issues with the adaptor plate but I think those have been resolved. I'll know more next week. The Denny's is a 3 inch which is what the stocker is and it weighs 23 lbs versus 49 stock. The Coastal Aluminum is good but it is a 4 inch. I can't use something that big due to my Saleen adaptor. BMR has a really sweet Carbon fiber one...

I've looked at several and have decided that I'll stay away from a 4" due to some talk about clearance issues. Denny's 3" piece looks like a good one. I have that link saved for future usage!!!!

It's a very well built DS. He is switching from an adaptor plate to a new pinion flange, which I think is smarter. I already have the adaptor plate version and am stuck. Denny is a great guy to work with and is very helpful. Most hardcore racers use his DS on their 1000 hp drag cars so I feel really safe with his DS...
