I posted in the engine thread about the lack of updates and what we are on. We also are working on designing and making a custom one-off upper intake for this car which is taking some time. We hope to soon get the transmission here and progress from there.

This car's been on hold awhile now just due to the owner has some unforeseen damage with the april 2011 storms that came through the southeast. In talking with Paul, this is back underway so expect some updates soon

Currently the engine and transmission are in the car...we still have to fab up the transmission mount but everything is in place. We ordered a set of Kooks Custom headers for it and test fitted them as seen in these pictures...fitment was perfect so they are currently at Jet Hot getting coated and we should have them back in a week or two hopefully. The tornado destroyed Ben's house and garage which put a hold on this project for a while. Every one of Ben's other cars were damaged and we have also been working to put them back together as well.

The headers came back from Jet-hot and have been installed. Not a cheap process but lifetime warranty on the coating and a great way to protect the header investment. Next we are working on the fuel system...stay tuned

We are still plugging away. Currently dealing with a problem. Decided to go with Kenny Brown IRS control arms on the rear and told them I already had Koni Sports with coilover conversions...was supposed to be no problem. Get the arms installed and they designed these arms to ONLY work with a shock body that has a smaller spherical rod end so the Koni's we have won't fit. I wanted to stick with Konis but Kenny Brown no longer uses Koni, they use Strange. After many phone calls to both KB and Koni...I end up empty handed. One of the old timers at Koni apparently passed away and with him a lot of knowledge so unless I could get a part number there was no help. KB tells us the strange valving is spec'd out by Kenny Brown and is nearly identical to the Koni valving....next problem is the rear coilover springs we have are 2.25" in diameter and the Strange body takes a 2.5" diameter spring....SO I am currently working on the most cost effective way to get this issue solved.

The biggest delay was caused by the Tornado outbreak of April 11....Ben's entire collection except for this car was seriously damaged. At that time we put this project aside and helped him rebuild all of the other cars...only one car remains and that is his 20K mile Comp prep SVO...that car will wait and we have been back on this project. Currently we are finishing up wiring and the roll bar is at the powder coater and once back the interior will go in which is sitting here waiting(new TMI headliner and door panels included). We also ran into some issues like the clutch....the cable would not work with the 6 speed combined with the Ford Racing oil pan and Kooks headers so we ended up going with a hydraulic clutch setup. I'll try to get some updated pics and info...things have been busy. We are working on finishing this entire project over the next 6-8 weeks.

It'll be good to see it finished. She was looking anxious to run again when I saw her a couple years ago.
