EVERY hood is played out if you think about it and most of them look tacky IMO. This is a small cowl being 1.5" so it's barely noticeable. The idea is to not trash the original lines/look of the Cobra body style.

Cervini's wants over 500 dollars for the fox 03/04 cobra style hood, they're getting ridiculous.

It was ordered in December and delivered in January....after 4 months of researching them to decide which seemed the best.

just outta curiousity, how much did the rotisserie cost? Which features made it better or worse than the others? My brother is thinking of getting one for his garage.

It depends on what options you get...just visit http://www.accessiblesystems.com

The steel wall thickness is thicker on this rotisserie over the others that I looked at. It also has a very easy to use balancing system. The people were helpful and delivery was fast.

What about different m/mounts to lower the engine thus eliminating the
1.5" cowl ? Does'nt FR make them, or what about fabricating a pair? Also curious as to why you chose the 331 over the 347? Would'nt be that pin to ringland issue would it, or are you one of those that believes it's a mythe also?

It's not a hood clearance issue.....it's the desired look of the 1.5" cowl hood....it adds a little but not too much in the overall look of the car plus the weight savings.

The 347 problems of the past are gone now however the 347 still is not an engine you can expect high mileage out of. The 331 is good for over 100K miles without refreshening. We've done a number of 331 combos and I've done 347 combos as well....I prefer the 331 setup. If I was building a dedicated drag car I might do a 347 but we build mostly dual purpose street/track cars and the 331 fits that purpose better.

1.5" cowl is perfect. Personally I'm not a fan of them, but if I had to pick one that would be it.

Yeah, gotta be subtle.

Look at the blue car in the top-left: https://www.cervinis.com/search.aspx...ra%20Hatchback

Yes, Subtle is the idea.

The HO Fibertrends hood is MUCH lighter than the Cervini...without the embossed name underneath and less expensive as well.

What is the weight difference between the Cervinis and the Fibertrend? My Cervini hood doesn't seem to weigh more than 15 or 20 pounds.

It varies by hood....I weighed 2 SN95 hoods once and there was a 9lb difference. The center of the HO hood is not finished but when painted and then sprayed with a semi gloss black you get the impression of a nice, neat hood pad. Cervini has more layers underneath to finish it smooth making it more for appearance and less function of weight savings. My pet peeve though with the Cervini hood is the embossed name underneath and if you try to remove it you go through the layer creating a lot of work. Unless you are paying me to advertise, don't force it on me is my opinion. Another issue that I think they may have changed by now was the latch design on the Cervini hoods....I've heard of more than 30 of their hoods over the years fly up as a result.....I haven't heard of any recently which leads me to believe they may have finally changed this.
