I had to fight with the dealership when I picked up my '05 in May last year, I wanted to see if these bolts were on the car fresh from the factory. They were. They were also on my '07 when I picked it up in July. I think this was only a problem on car's build before April '05. My car was built April 15th '05, and like I said, the bolts were installed. I think they fixed the strut bearing thing about the same time, I checked on that too, and it was no longer supposed to be a problem on cars built after April 6th or something. I remember that it was about a week before my car was built.

I've had 2 manual Mustangs ('05 and '07) and neither one had either problem.

But of course, I could just be lucky.

When this issue first came up, my dealer ordered them and installed without making any fuss about it - at the time there was not a noise problem

I had an early build '05 and they were missing....I just installed my own bolts and the rattle went away. I did post about this back in the Feb '05 timeframe...if you care to search - it was a pretty large thread. My '07 GT/CS 5-spd has the bolts....I'm sure it was an '05 early production miss or something.

Same here got the factory bolts had them installed no charge .The Mustang had a rattle for the first few hundred feet untill the car warmed up ,once the bolts were installed no problem .

Many thanks to all of you from the origional thread not only did the dealer get the proper bolts because of all of you I told them this was in every early 05 GT manual trans mustang and to notify all there customers .
Nothing worse than a new car with a rattle to ruin the new car experiance .
The dealer got back to me later and thanked me ,it did a lot for thier public realations .
