Intermittent Turn Signal issue

I have had my shop look at my turn signal the last 3 times it has been in, and they still have not seen the problem.

I will turn on the turn signal, either direction, and after blinking normally for a few blinks, it will race, then slow down. Sometimes it even stops blinking. It will not do it every time, and seems to do it every 3-4 days.

Had anybody else had an issue like this?

After reading about the water leaks I'm more confused than ever! I don't have water coming in the car in the area that is described. But could this issue still be messing with the electrical?

I have the same issue with my 98 taurus it started around 150k miles. So I took it in and they said that its the wiring being crossed somewhere. I said no thanks to a new harness and about 2g's worth of work. You might want to bring it in and have the dealership fix it before the problem gets worse
