Getting the Hesitation after long cruise TSB fixed
Take the car in with a copy of the TSB to be given to the tech and inform them that you want the car looked at but you are not authorizing them to take the car on a long drive as you do not want the car driven for 40 since it has to be driven at least that far in one drive before the symptoms occur. The dealers have been instructed by Ford to replace the pumps when a customer complains of this condition. Calling them on the phone will get you no where.

My car is still doing it since they changed the coil packs. It started doing it a lot recently. It FINALLY threw a CEL. Cam position sensor error. Its at the dealership, hope this fixes it once and for all.
Richard/06GT4RAD,
I called first just to check if they had the part in stock so I wouldnt waste a trip there. Thats when he gave me the crap about them not doing this TSB unless they witness it personally. I really was suprised by this, my old Ford dealer in El Paso was awesome. I'm going to try taking it in and talk with someone else. Thanks.

That's bogus! When mine did it, I told my dealer, they ordered the part and fixed it, no questions asked. There is no way I would let the dealer keep my car and take it on a long drive.
Well, just so everyone doesn't feel alone I'll share.
I've had this problem since I got the car in Dec 2005. Every time I bring it in I ask to get it fixed and they also say they have to experience it themselves, even after I gave them the TSB. They're not mean about it but they still don't fix it. Last time they said they would call the ford hotline (whatever that is) to see what to do and get back to me. I've called back twice to check and they keep saying they'll call me back but they never do.
I think I'm done trying. I've gotten kinda used to it. On long drives I "clear it's throat" on occasion to reset the pump so to speak.
Someone should start a poll (don't have the problem/have problem and dealer fixed/have problem dealer won't fix/have the problem and fixed it myself/have problem but leaving it alone) so we can all commiserate.

call ford corporate. dont let these scumbag dealers rip you off. you bring in the TSB, say its happening, and they have to fix it. call corporate and report the dealer, they will call the dealership, and then when you go in they will be kissing your *** and do it right away. trust me i have done this with ford, benz, gmc, mazda. works whenever they wont fix something. only dealer i have ever gone to and not had a problem was new rochelle chevrolet.

Thought I'd chime in my experience with this issue. I just sent an email to the dealer owner and it pretty much sums everything up:
Hello Bill,
You may not remember, but I met you yesterday morning around 7:30am at the service department at Ray Skillman Ford. My name is Eric and I had brought my 2006 Tungsten Grey Mustang GT in for service to fix the attached TSB, "Hesitation on acceleration after long cruise." This problem doesn't occur unless you're using cruise control for an extended period of time without changing the throttle, which is what I do on my daily commute so this issue happens quite frequently to me.
The reason for my contacting you is that the service department cannot replicate the problem and therefore will not fix it. I had mentioned to them how this problem occurs and it would be very difficult for them see it for themselves. Unknown to me (and unauthorized), they have been driving my car up and down US31 for 50 miles trying to replicate the problem, but it simply will not occur on the driving conditions of US31. Curtis, the service rep, has been helpful and suggested that a technician ride with me so I can replicate the problem. This is unrealistic to waste my time, the technicians time, miles, and gas to simply verify that a simple fuel pump is faulty. How can I get this fixed?
This is my second car within two years I've purchased from your dealership. In fact, I believe I had purchased the first '06 Mustang GT you got (pre-ordered months in advance through Stacy). Both of my cars are regularly serviced by your dealership as well.
Best Regards,
Eric

Mines in to get this fixed right now. I left it yesterday morning and they called back yesterday afternoon and said they were over nighting a fuel pump and I could get it back this afternoon.
I'm thankful that the dealership was cool with me telling them that I was running a custom tune, and to please not reflash my computer with any updates. I even went so far as to put a piece of tape over the port for the computer.
I have cleared code PO456 quite a few times that I'm told has to do with this issue.
You would think with so many dealerships all over the country calling Ford to replace fuel pumps, that they wouldn't be giving anyone any problems.

Waldorf Ford.......
I don't think I have ever heard any thing nice about Waldorf, It seems
like every time I hear that name it's another proud stang owner being denied the warranty that most of us really consider when buying. I'm glad my dealer isn't that way ( Young Ford ) I guess Waldorf doesn't care if you ever come back. My hesitation fixed, No questions asked! just told them about the tsb, found it fixed along with water leak including new carpet..... Good Luck ! I guess dealers in the south know how to treat their customers....

ok so they did alternator tsb, my alternator was bad and causing the prob. they tested it etc.. new alternator was put in, even though im out of warranty. i have to say, that quality ford of mt vernon has great service now. the service manager there is actually a mustang guy, and really knows his isht. GREAT SUCCESS!
Took my car into my dealer today for numerous TSB's to be fixed... but after speaking to the Service Department I highly doubt they are going to fix my problems... My car has been having the hesitation on accel. pretty much since 2005 and I printed all the TSB's and gave them to the department... they then told me they would have to drive it and experience it themselves still! I then told them Ford has said that any mention upon hesitation should warrent a fix because no dealer is going to drive a car for any long period of time to make it reproduce the hesitation...
Well just went and picked my car up from my dealership and man am I relieved! They ordered everything I needed Fuel Pump, New gas tank, the new door handles because mine are messed up and a new radio because of my bad disk problem... No questions asked about my intake or my tune and I told them streight up about it when I took it in today... big props for Watson Quality Ford in Jackson, MS!

And that's how it should be at all dealerships.

Just had my fuel pump and sender replaced today. Even on the invoice, it indicates that the dealer "could not verify a hesitation at this time" but "performed TSB 06-9-9 per customer diagnosis." I believe that Ford corporate doesn't require dealer proof, so any of you with this issue should be able to get this fixed, if all dealers operated under this.....
had mine replaced this past saturday; was able to convice the manager to fix it without experiencing the problem; told him i was almost killed twice and had enough; also told him i purchased a ford edge there 3 weeks ago and that i am a loyal customer; did not have to take off the cai or tune - just told them not to flash the computer - no problem.
my warranty runs out next year so wanted to get this taken care of - no other tsb's at this point for concern - june 05 purchase and 10000 miles.

Great! I'm finally getting mine in for this in two weeks (I think). Last time I was in there I said pretty much the same thing you did: I'm a loyal customer, I've complained about this every 6 months since April 2006, this problem is annoying and unsafe, there's just no way the dealer can recreate the problem, and I've just had enough. The service manager said to call him directly when I was ready to schedule my service and he'd take care of it. Hopefully all goes well.
I think Ford's really playing with fire on this one. This hesitation TSB should really be a recall. Someday somebodies going to come off the highway, stop, go to accel, find no accel, press throttle harder to the floor and unleash 300hp into the car or body in front of them. Sure not all cars may experience the hesitation but it's probably just because some don't drive highway. It doesn't mean the problem isn't in every fuel pump installed in all early model Mustangs. Then again as has been done before Ford would rather settle individual claims than admit there is a serious problem and actually fix it.
