Getting the Hesitation after long cruise TSB fixed

Ok well I just dropped my car off at Waldorf Ford (the 2nd Ford dealership its been too) and one of the many things that needs to be taken care of is the hesitation after a long cruise TSB. How are they going to test this problem if they won't drive the car for a long cruise? Does Ford know that dealerships won't drive the car for more than 20 minutes. The hesitation only happens after a LONG cruise with no stops. Grrrr how did you guys get this fixed? I have a feeling I'm going to have to make some calls to higher ups in the chain to get this fixed. This is going to be the 6th trip to a dealership for warranty work. Also why does every Ford dealership never want to do any warranty work so they give you an attitude and try to blame other stuff for the problems on the car (that TSBs clearly state the problem) (Last FORD EVEEEEEEEEEEEER).

If you bring in the TSB, they *should* fix it without issues.

I took mine in with the TSB and explained its after a LONG cruise and they
said ok and replaced the fuel pump with no problems. I did take the lower back seat out myself so there would be one less thing that could be damaged. The tech laughed and said he didnt blame me. It only took them around 30 minutes.

I had the fix done in both of my 06s. It works, so no worries once you get it back. It wasn't a noticed issue on the second car, but once it happened to me on the first car at a light, and some Teen girls almost drove up the back of my car, so I had it done the next day. I have plenty of 200mi trips under my belt since then with no hesitation after exiting the freeway.

Lemmie get this straight - you can't take this car on a long highway trip without it crapping out as a result?

Are you people kidding...?

I drive my car on 200 mile stents pretty frequently, and haven't had any noticeable issues (knock wood).

But, since there is a TSB for this, I will probably just bring this TSB in when I get the fuel filler and erratic fuel gauge issues fixed. Might as well get the new fuel pump at the same time, right. They will be right there anyway

The car doesn't "crap out". It's just after a long cruise air builds up in the first gen fuel pump. So, when you get off the freeway, there is a slight hesitation on acceleration from a stop. Nothing to worry about really, just annoying. I'm not sure when the factory switched to the second gen fuel pump, but I am pretty sure yours is okay. I had mine replaced, but have not been on a long cruise since to check it out.

Props to waldorf Ford for getting everything done without any issues. Some dealerships just plain suck ***. They are the people to go to if your in the MD area and are having trouble with your local dealership. It will be going in again as soon as I test to see if my pass firewall leaks water, plus my trunk light won't come one sometimes when I open the trunk(yes even when I poke the plunger).

WakeField Ford

Took in the TSB and had the Manager explain to me that may not be the problem. They then checked it out and repalced the fuel pump. No more problem.
TSB are a great sourse of info.

Wakefield Ford was Great.

I need to get it done too. Mine falls flat on its face after a long cruise. I especially notice it when you get off of an exit ramp and stop at a stop light. When the light turns green my car "craps out" on me...lol

Do any of you know if this is going to require a reflash of the PCM?

I never heard of this requiring a PCM reflash. Also are they putting the new fuel pump in the 2007/08's?

YaY I'm throwing codes now. I just got a p2004 and a p2005 code. My manifold runner control is stuck open on bank 1 and bank 2. Guess back to the dealership to get this and the trunk light problem taken care of.

Have you stopped to consider that maybe, just maybe, the reason you are throwing codes is >> JLT 2 intake, SCT X-Cal 2 Evolution 93 octane tune...?

Some others around here have reported reflashes messing with the PCM and causing other undesireable side effects.

Just a thought.

I've had the stock intake and tune on for over a week so I doubt it was the tune. There is a TSB out for these codes BTW so I took the TSB printout and the car in to the dealership today and dropped it off. They are going to fix it, the front flap of the driverside seat (there is a TSB on this too), and have my trunk light problem looked at.

I took the TSB in and also explained they would have to take a long, steady speed drive. They more or less took my word for it because they lied on the paperwork and said they confirmed the problem after a test drive - and they did not do a test drive.
