Drivers seat air bag

Here is a new one for you ,

I noticed a bulge in my drivers seat the other day , it just didnt look right to me . I stoped by the dealer and left the car , they said they hadnt yet seen this either .
Turns out the air bag inside the theat had started to come out of the casing it is in . It had also turned forward , they said it was a good thing I brought it in . A hard enough bump and it could have deployed , just goes to show you anything can happen .

Anyone else herd of this , I would recommend everyone keeping an eye out on there drivers seat .

There's an airbag inside the drivers seat?
Optional on '07 and earlier and standard with Mustang GT Premium on '08. Could be wrong a year on the years though.

Thanks for the info on the airbag premature deployment, fordcrazy. Any idea on the cause?

Thanks. I don't have this problem... yet. Luckily my car has been spared allot, but not all, of the early model problems. I guess it was built on a "good" day.

FordCrazy...was the bag actually bulging out from the seat? I checked mine and there is a noticable bulge. The seat material is tight against whatever is pushing out from inside.

Also, if you have time, you may want to make a NHTSA report, on line. This could result in a recall, if the problem is widespread. I can't imagine driving down the Interstate at 75 and having the bad deploy!

Off to the dealer as soon as the weather permits. Thanks for posting this.
