Cleaning Fabric Seats
Cleaning Fabric Seats
What is the best way to clean the fabric seats? I did a little oopsie holding a cup of Coke and hit a bump....so the seat cushion is kind of wet. I'm afraid it will leave a water mark. There is some sort of water mark on the passenger seat, right near the side bolster seam and nothing takes it out. I tried mild soap on a small sponge w/clean water. I'm thinking of going to a place that shampoos the upholstery...will that work?? Its such a new car to have stained seats
A steam or hot-water based carpet cleaner will work if you have access to one with an upholstery attachment. I've cleaned many interiors (carpet & seats) with the one I have at home with no problems. It won't hurt to get the seat wet with the solution as long as you let it dry. I've even seen detail shops spray down a seat with upholstery cleaner and water and use a shop vac to get out stains.
I use a standard carpet cleaning machine , but instead of a cleaning soluyion , i use equal parts vinigar and amonia . I also mix these with boiling hot water in the cleaning machine , does a awesome job on seats and capet alike . If the staind are really bad , pre spay with a hot water oxi clean mixture
What about the door armrests? My elbow rests on it and before the car even had 1000 miles I have a dark circle in the vinyl. I don't think its from my skin, I noticed it after I began wearing a jacket in late September when the weather turned chilly. NOthing seems to take it out. The fabric color dye from the jacket rubbed off on the armrest??? BTW, I have the light grey interior.
