My presets remain but the clock resets to 12:00. If it’s a Shaker problem its no big deal but if im having charging problems that’s a BIG issue I really don’t want to loose my motor to a POS alternator.

Probably a battery issue. How long does it sit when the clock loses time? More than a day or two and it is probably just a bad battery.

I had this happen to me too. I saw a thread on this same subject some time ago (can't remember if it was this site or not). A poster in that thread said to make sure that the radio is turned off before shutting the car off. Apparently, if the car is shut off when the radio is still turned on, the radio will draw considerably more current that it would normally if turned off before shutting the car down. The difference probably isn't enough to be noticeable if your car gets driven every day. However, if your car is garaged and not driven for sometimes an extended period (like mine is now with the lousy wheather we're having where I live), the extra draw on the electrical system can apparently be enough to cause this. At any rate, I have NOT had a recurrence of this problem since ensuring that I turn the radio off before shutting the car off.

Hope this helps some!
