Also, off topic, but interesting. There were 69 1969 ZL-1 Camaros made (aluminum 427 engine). Two are for sale in this month's Hemmings. Asking price on one is $1,450,000 !!!


Sorry , there were two ZL-1 Corvettes made...

Something tells me you could machine and build a new 427 aluminum block for under 100k and build a Year One Camaro.
What count to me is what it feels like when you drive it, not how original it is.

if money where no object i would have a titanium 557 BB with titanium crank rods and pistons with aluminum 300cc edelborck heads inside a 08 GT500.... never crack a block disperses heat in a magical manner, and will blow away anything anyone wants to put up against it. 200hp car ok, more agressive parts 3000hp and block integrity still there.

now that im back to reality, if i even had 100k i would still build my own car...i would rather do it myself it makes it more mine if i do it.
