People Have No Respect(Rant)
I enjoy driving my 86 GT. Its a fun car to drive and it even gets decent gas mileage to boot. So I try to drive it to work on nice days, usually it end up being driven 1-2 times a week. I don't really go anywhere else in the car, my wife doesn't like riding in it and I take the truck when I go parts hunting. I work on a small "compound" that has several different government contract companies and Civilians that work directly for the Army. A large majority of the people are 40 and up with a few exceptions, me being one of them(29). Alot of these people are car people or at the least drive very nice vehicles, the government pay well after all. So you can probably understand the range of emotions that I felt this afternoon when I found out that my car had been keyed. I am the type of person that looks at my car every time I get in or out of it. I know where every scratch, dent and nick is. The last time that I drove it before today was last Monday and it sure as he** didn't have the scratches then. I should also mention that stays in a garage when it is not being driven. I don't understand what would posess someone to key another persons car. I understand that there are a**hol** out there but this is the second time in two months that a car that I own has been keyed. My first thought was to just start driving the truck to work everyday, but that still does not have a scratch on it yet so if that got keyed too I would literally flip. I am now officially looking for a beater car or truck to drive to work. That way I won't care if it get jacked up. But the thing that suck about that is if I get another car, I have to get rid of the 84 GT Turbo. Its not a space thing, its a promise to the wife that I would get anymore cars unless I could store them all indoors. I think my rant is over, but I'm still not happy, and I find out who did it he is going to have an appointment with my 9 iron.

Man, that's hard to believe. I work in the same compound and don't have any fears or issues. I leave my doors unlocked, and drive my 66 convertible occasionally.
Are you sure you didn't pick this up somewhere else like Walmart?
You've only been there a couple weeks. How'd you **** someone off already?
In any case, sorry to hear it. I can help you buff it out if you'd like to try. I have the equipment and can show you how to use it.

I washed the car last Saturday and took it out later that day, but I never left the car. Drove it to work last Monday and just put gas in that day. It stayed in the garage until Friday evening when my brother came for a visit, we went down the road about two miles but never left the car. I didn't see it this morning before I drove it to work. I noticed it this afternoon when I was leaving. Between all that, the car stayed in the garage. Maybe I'm taking someones parking spot, there are only about 10 cars there in the morning when I get there. Only you and two of my coworkers even know that it is my car. Most of the marks are light and should buff out with some heavy rubbing compound but the main mark on the door is going to take alot of work.

I have never had the misfortune that you have had, yet I did come out from the mall's parking lot and my driver's fender was bent enough that it could not be repaired. So I know your pain.
Mark's a whiz at that stuff.
