The extra braces are unique to convertible.

What's the exact bore and stroke ?
PI x radious squared x stroke length (volume of a cylinder) x 8 (the number of cylinders) will be the answer HOSS (new member) is looking for.

according to june hot rod issue the 4.23 bore and the 3.78 stroke yielded a 424.9 bore .. but ford called it a 427 because that was the nascar limit at the time .. dropping in a 3.98 crank made a 454 which was also claimed as 427 for class drag racing .. the original lemans winning GT is in the henry ford museum but without the original engine .. it is rumored to have been put in an excutives mustang as when they tested the engine after the race they found it made 7 more horsepower than when they installed it .. the 3251 mile race just broke the motor in properly

1970, Mustangs were built at 3 different factories, but only two built Boss 302s. Which two built them and which one did not?

I'll keep things moving here. In '70, Mustangs were built at Dearborn, Mich., San Jose, CA, and Metuchen N.J. Boss 302s were not built at San Jose.
