According to the Mustang Buyers Guide, equipped with a 170 cid 6-cyl, a 2-bbl 260 cid v-8 and a 4-bbl 289 cid v-8 for 64 1/2.

Or did I miss understand the question?

Post #70 was out of order - those who answer the last question correctly get to ask the next unless the correct answer guy bows out. This is how it was done on the old club site when it was part of huntsvillecarscene.com .

I think his ? was the very first Mustang - so if it wasn't the 170, then it was one of the other available engines...

Yes, the question was probably not worded the best, but which engine was in the first production Mustang off the line?

You are correct. The first Mustang off the line was a Wimbledon white convertible, equipped with a 260. You're up......

Ok, since no one has this one... workman loaned me a book called "Iron Fist, Lead Foot" which detailed the development of the 03 Cobra. It's a neat book that talks about the vision Colleti had and the engineering/testing/politics that played out to bring the car.

The code name was Terminator, but for a long time, vendors didn't even know it was a Mustang. Some thought it was a new model. Only one vendor stamped the word Terminator on their part. Ford was a bit miffed, but wasn't about to change since the word isn't visible.

On the backside of the quarter scoop on each side is the word "Terminator".

Phillip, go pull yours off quick and give us a picture.
