Of the cars you mention, Ford wins...37 wins to 14. If you throw in the Charger 500, Ford still wins but only by one. 37 to 36.

You can see that Ford Torino Talladegas won 29, Mercury Cyclone Spoiler II won 8.

The Daytona Dodge only won 6 and the Superbird won 8.

So it was FoMoCo 37, Chrysler 14! And you usually only hear about how great the "wing" cars were...

I was think that same thing. Daytona and Superbird this, Hemi that. What people fail to realize is that NASCAR changed the rules TWICE to outlaw innovations that Ford had come up with. One was the aero cars and the other was the 427 Cammer engines. But they NEVER outlawed the Hemi, WTF. It just seemed kinda biased to me, but I wasn't alive back then so I will never know for sure. Is it my turn??

The owner of this 86 Hatch claims that his car is a Cobra. Did Ford make a Cobra in 1986?

Not in the US. I believe there was a Canadian 4 eye Cobra around that time - might do a little research on that.

It's got the Cobra badge on it...must be a Cobra. Hmmm, that's kind of like saying "I read it on line...".

I guess that was an answer. LOL. You are correct, although I don't recall all the years they made them, there was infact a Cobra made in Canada. I have seen pics of an 85 and 86 for sure. Green is up again.

in the interest of giving us less knowledgeable on the subjects a fighting chance why dont we reformat this a bit and have mgreene / leroy / and bigred take turns simply asking questions that the rest of us can struggle with .. give a time deadline to discourage stagnantcy ..

Uhhh, I'm not so sure Leroy needs to be part of the question asking. Unless the questions are related to the '92 GT. Anything else from me comes from the internet. I've learned a lot already from this thread, good stuff!

I do try to let other people answer the questions. There have been several that I knew but passed on to hopefully get others involved. Some are just too juicy to resist though.

Gotta say too that I have learned alot searching "Bob Doles" internets! LOL. My knowledge is pretty limited to 70 Mach 1's in particular. I always like learning new trivia, that's what makes this fun.
Problem is, how to stump MGreene without the rest of us hearing crickets in the background??? Thats a challenge upon itself and I like it

"Bob Doles" internet? Don't you mean "Algores" internet???

OK next question. The Continental Mark IV came in 4 different "Designer" models in the early 1970s (made from 1972-1976). Name them:
