I guess most of the ratrods I thought had the flat black finish like the pic Hoss showed - the one I saw will eventually rust through if they don't stop it!

What's you idea for a Mustangratrod?????

 

you may be thinking of this style rat rod ,,

 

The one we saw didn't have any fenders, and was a little newer with more rust! kennyg

 

Take an old Mustang body thats been sittting out for a long time in good old red oxide primer, maybe with some wheelflairs with bondo cracking around the edge where they were blended in, big huge slots in the back, very heavy rake, shave everything off in front of the firewall, front tube chassis parallel to the ground with exposed engine and suspension, custom fab a grille/radiator shell from Mustang pieces, SBF-more carbs the better, headers into side pipes....kennyg

 

I like this one.

 

This last one has been to a lot of shows this year - - really neat rat rod, if you like that short of thing - I personally think it is GREAT - love it - love the sound. At least he doesn't have to spend much time polishing it......

If you are really interested in the oldies rods, need to do some research - you will find that the old "hot rods" post-WWII were all non-painted and stripped down - - weight vs speed, plus cost, cheaper to build, put the $$ in the engine not the body.

 

i dont know the owner but a friend of mine does .. he has several neat old fords ..

got my locker gears in but cant get the hang of this drifting craze .. it aint as easy as they make it look on tv ..

 

as i stated in an earlier post i have seen more snakes this year than iv`e seen in many years past .. also frogs lizzards and other fragile skinned critters .. 10 years ago or so the ozone and global warming experts warned the declining numbers of such creatures was proof of pending global disaster and it seemed for a bit to be so .. but this year debunks that in my opionion .. iv`e been up to my eyeballs in snakes .. some i picked up but i`m not picking up this copperhead ..aint he a beauty ..
