HOSS, Looks good! I'll listen to the south in the morning for the sound of screaming mothers. Those heads something you already had or did you luck into an experienced set? kennyg

conversation with myself "" boy !! that thing really smokes HOSS .. ahhhh yes it does doesn`t it >> self "" no !! it litterally smokes .. i cant see anything behind me .. i must have put some pistons in upside down or the heads on backwards.. in the 8769 engines i`ve built in the last 100 years i`ve never had any grief with one .. this one smokes big time .. i`m hoping it is a warped intake .. it always leaked a little water cause of a poor seal ..i`m hoping it`s sucking oil .. it really smokes up when i come to a stop yet cleans up a bit when i get going .. i dont think i`ts a ring thing .. it really screams otherwise .. never smoked before i spun the rods

I saw and heard a 70/72 Monte Carlo at the light in HG at 5:30 yesterday afternoon, had a number on the windshield like they do at the strip. Sounded pretty badaz. Troopers are out in force with help from the County shooting radar and setting up road blocks for any moving violations. Know a guy that got an improper tag warning and a no insurance ticket on a car he just bought. He's going to court with proof of insurance as he had called it in to his agent but didn't have a card on him. kennyg

it aint got no gas in it !!

please dont let me work on your cars .. i was telling a fellow at work today the grief i was having with my stang smoking so much .. he said " have you checked your PVC valve ?".. i thought " you carl childress looking soandso .. thats the silliest thing iv`e heard of .. ( because it`s the simpliest thing there is ) so i come home and sure nuff it rattles and will not seal shut .. the engine is sucking oil like crazy thru the PVC valve .. i have`nt done actual diagnosis type work in so long i cant remember what to look for ..are they supposed to rattle or not .. mine rattles when you shake it .. anyway i blocked it off and the smoking seems to have gone .. i tried my best to blow the thing up last nite perhaps for no reason .

If I remember right...yes it should rattle and yes it should seal in one direction. Glad you found your problem

well .. i went to get a new one and it rattled also .. mine will not seal under vacuum .. i will look at just not running one at all .. run dual breathers in the valve covers as it runs great and does not smoke a lick when the pvc is plugged ..

I hope you get that poly vinyl chloride (pvc) fixed, but you might want to check your positive crankcase ventilation (pcv) valve. kennyg

fix # 17

once again i think i`ve fingered out what the smoking issue is .. the roller rockers (which are new to this build ) do not have the oil diverter at the pushrod tip so oil is pumping straight into the suction of the PCV ( for kennyg ) valve.. and the made in tiwan valve covers dont have a splash baffle .. i`ll see if i can bond a plate in place

just so you know

this fellow could very well been the first to fly period if he`d been aware of orville & wilbur .. this is about a mile from where i live .. down at hump creek .. his plane had many inventions that are still used today and it even had retractable landing gear and folding wings and rudder pitch and control .. he has connections to the fellow that gave a Mr Boeing the first plane ride that led to Boeing airplane ..look it up >. Quicks Airplane ,,
