No more X-plan on Bullitts per Ford...
Found out if you are a Ford Signature dealer and your bullitt didn't arrive on time you can apply for "order protection" but not many dealers are signature dealers, ours isnt. I've got it in my right mind just to hold it in the back lot and claim a part is on back-order until they release d-plan...
Im sorry to hear this bad news for all of you that have Bullitts ordered under the X-plan. Its a real shame Ford is treating their customers this way. Hold your ground and cancel those orders, its not worth being bent over just for a car.
Rob
P.S. I feel sorry for the honest dealers and salesman that have to convey this information to there customers who already have cars ordered, Ford didnt think a whole lot of you either.

Well, I contacted my salesperson via email (like I always do). He has usually been very quick. But, it's been 4 days and still no reply. I don't know if as of thursday (usually updated on Thursdays) if it is scheduled or built. But, I'm awaiting a reply from the salesguy. I haven't told him I found out that it is still in the system as unscheduled, but I asked for an update asap. When we made the deal, it was signed on my order sheet that it would be x-plan, and if that wasn't possible, we'd renegotiate for something under MSRP (I have all the invoice pricing from the order sheet, so we'll go rounds). I really don't think it's his fault, but I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt and I'm awaiting a reply. He's been good to me so far. Needless to say, it's been too much effort on my part to get my order going and I'm tired of it. If I don't have a VIN and date or car built by my next update, I'm going after a dealer stock car.
Yeah, no crap. I do feel sorry for the honest guys selling the cars. Ford should not have allowed to take orders for these cars without having the incentives and crap already figured out and posted.

I would really hate to be a dealer right now having to tell their customers about this after they promised them something different. The dealer is going to get all the flack.
It stinks but I wouldn't expect a dealer to sell a car on a plan if Ford is not going to reimburse them. They can, however, at least take some $$ off MSRP.

Well, for most of us, the cancelation of incentives and Plan Deals is very poor business conduct by Ford. These incentives for the most part, were the deciding factor (for me at least) in ordering the Bullitt. I purposely ordered the car by a certain cut-off date, so that I would take advantage of the various rebates and incentives. In other words, my budget would only allow for so much money to be spent on this particular car.
So my resolve to this issue is quite simple: If my dealer (or Ford) does not honor the agreed-upon pre-order pricing, I will cancel my order and let them sell the Bullitt to someone else. I do not have to buy the car. That option is always open!

I definately would be looking to find a dealer who has one in stock and get it from them.
Almost makes me wonder though if you guys who got left in the lurch just waited a month or two then tried again...if the Bullitt sales are slow due to gas prices and the economy, could it be possible they may re-instate the incentives in 8-10 weeks?
some of us ordered in October and November.
Ford has been doing some really odd things with their incentives lately. In November the 08 SGTs were X-Plan eligible for ~30 days then they cancelled it in early December. Normally they have their best incentives in December (year end clearance sales).
Not that it helps you all now, but you don't have to have the car to get the current incentives. I purchased my SGT from my dealer on 15 Nov but didn't take delivery until mid December. If I had used the available X-Plan, it would have been based on the date of purchase rather than date of delivery. I was able to use the then available $1K incentives and military rebates based on date of purchase.

If you look at teh incentives page you see the $1500 then ther is tab "Retail offers" when you click on it there is "RCL Customer cash" $500
"Program #50044:Take new retail delivery from dealer stock by 3/31/2008. See dealer for residency restrictions and complete details."
The $1500 is " Program #11452:Take new retail delivery from dealer stock by 3/31/2008. See dealer for residency restrictions and complete details."

Heck, they may re-instate incentives in 8-10 hours or 8-10 days! Ford is rather wishy-washy with rebates and they change their minds quite frequently as they are chasing a moving target (supply vs demand).
What are the lease prices like with this new program? I liked the $1000 cash last month. I'm ordering soon and want to do a lease. I was quoted a 7.5% money factor and 70% residual on a 24 month lease with X-Plan last month on a GT/CS. Has that gone down at all?
Well....I guess I'll add further fuel to the fire.
I was on the phone with my dealer repeatedly today. Story at COB was that the Bullitt IS Z plan eligible, and that they are going to sell me my car at the price we agreed upon in November. I'm sure things can change, but the guy helping me called Ford (plan sales) and that's what he was told over the phone. I sent him the link here so he could see the postings and take a look at his computer and read the document that you guys posted.
Irregardless, I'm not buying if it the plan price isn't honored.

The ramped up production is likely in response to the enquiries from early orderers who don't have their cars yet.
It will create increased supply and there isn't necessarily increased demand especially when plans are suddenly disallowed and there are not incentives or cash back.
Ford has a communication disconnect. They really need to work on that.

That 70% residual sounds odd. That's way too high on 24 months, even for a car with good resale value like a Mustang. Lease rates aren't all that good on Mustangs these days, so cash or conventional loan looks better. Ford has some awesome lease deals on their mainstream stuff, but not on Mustangs currently.
