Well, maybe there aren't going to be any obscure private rebates for Bullitt. Military Rebate is out......

Ford Division is announcing Military Appreciation, effective January 9, 2008.

- Active Military Personnel (Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard), National Guard, and Reservists who are residents of the United States. Retirees are not eligible for this program.

Please note: Customers must present their military identification or other documentation that clearly reflects active or reserve status and dealers are required to retain photo copies in the sales jacket.

- Qualifying buyers will receive $500 Bonus Cash good toward the purchase or lease of any new 2007/2008-Model Ford Car, Truck & SUV through F-550
(Excl. 2008-Model Mustang Shelby GT & Bullitt, 2007/2008-Model Shelby GT500, 2008-Model Harley & Foose Edition and 2008-Model Escape Hybrid)

I feel for you guys and gals. Hopefully you're dealing with a dealer who will do something to lower the price for you.

Well, I ordered a Bullitt for myself just in case I could get D-plan (employee pricing) and any available rebates. I knew deep inside that there was the distinct possibility of Ford excluding the Bullitt from the list of incentives, so I was prepared to pass on the Bullitt and keep my 07 GT if need be. I love my 07 GT, so it's OK.

Anyway, some lucky customer will be able to buy the black Bullitt that could have been mine. It'll be MSRP when it gets here. We've had a couple more customers place orders with us for Bullitts this week, so interest is starting to pick up a bit. Who knows, maybe by the time those Bullitts arrive there could be incentives back in the works from Ford. They are often wishy-washy about incentives, but it is still based on what is available the day you take delivery.

Actually I've got a call into my dealer at the moment...I want to make sure if I get the car next week that I still get x plan or do I have to get the paperwork all done tonight?
I'm saving over 4k with x plan and rebates- so if I don't get them I'm not going to be getting this car.

I don't know man, that might warrant getting in the car and driving over there. Forget the phone call...

OK that would definitely exclude those cars special ordered but what about Bullits that are purchased off the dealer lot? If the sale is based on when the customer takes delivery then I'd think those picking up the cars from dealer inventory in the next 80 days or so should qualify.

Oh well... I've gotta imagine that the news that Bullitts are exempt from A/D/X/Z-plans and incentives will likely frost many perspective Bullitt owners! Good job Ford!!!

I almost got one 2 days ago, called old dealership that we had bought many cars from. We discussed a deal got a price for my trade in then I asked if the would do X plan (didn't figure they would) they came back with a yes because I was a good customer. I was very excited telling everyone at work that I was getting another Bullitt and then the bubble burst. They called back with the numbers and they were almost $90 more than agreed (verbal of course) when asked why they said because of X plan they took an extra $3000. off my trade-in after a few coarse words I said thanks but no thanks and doubt if I will be back. Now I'm really bummed but I get over it someday.

Your 100% right on that. Frosted and iced. I will go up to the dealer and get my deposit back. The whole system needs a overhaul. People put orders in, put money down, receive a VIN #, and wait patiently. Then Bam with a 2 x 6 across the chops. This is . I have nothing bad to say about the dealer, just the source. Pretty sad my father worked for Ford 30 years and the father- in- law 35 years and this is what you get. Right on Ford.

I'm a dealer employee and was going to get D-Plan as long as i could sell my current car. It would have been here already except for the brake rigging on the rail car my ordered bullitt was on broke and the car sat in a kansas rail yard for over a week while it was repaired, so because of shoddy rail equipment i'm out of luck. They don't give us deals here unless you get it on D-Plan. Guess i'll wait for that 09 F-150 in forest green and have a bullitt truck since they'll probably never offer the mustang in green again.

Bullitt Truck? I can wait for that, since I'm in Texas and this is F-150 country!

+1. My car was ordered back in Nov., and finally built on the 2nd. If they aren't taking Z plan on my car, I won't be buying it.

Yes they are. I have little doubt they are reacting to certain dealers, as I said before.
It's the same reason the Marauder when introduced went from a planned MSRP of under 30K to about 34K. Big dealer pressure.

Ford needs to learn this lesson. Dealers are not necessarily their best friend, and Dealers are certainly not the customer Ford needs to worry about.
