It's ordered
Hey Lynda, awesome news about the short wait! If the car doesn't have a VIN, YES they can change the order. It would take 5 minutes to do. If they say they can't, I would question them on it ASAP. The only time you can't change any order that is already in the order banks, is once the car is listed as "bucked". This means they are getting the parts on the line to build it. Usually this title is given a week or so before the car is scheduled to be built.
And about the HID's, its always better to get them OEM. It will cost more to do it aftermarket and then you have to have the extra wires and such running under the hood. Plus the Active Anti-Theft is a great system from the factory. Love mine and I wouldn't order a Mustang without one. Oh, and when you ask them to change the options, ask them to change the Priority Code for you to a lower number (10 is the lowest). This way, the factory will "pull the order quicker" and assign it a VIN. Let me know how you make out at the dealer. PM me if you got any questions.

Found out this morning there IS a VIN#, so no upgrades for me. Not a big deal, if I want 'em bad enough I'll get them aftermarket I suppose...
It's not too bad though - the Bullitt comes standard pretty well equipped. About the only make or break option for the Bullitt are the HIDs - and if you haven't used HIDs before you should be fine without them.
I'm sure someone will have an OEM swap kit for adding HIDs to at least '08 Mustangs shortly though if you really want them later.
PM'd you regarding my wheels. Just ordered my GT500 wheels !!
Should have them on by the 12th. The Windveil Blue GT500 conversion
will almost be complete. Still have the interior to do, then repaint the
car w/ stripes.
Enjoy your new car.

Hey Lynda, just because there is a VIN, doesn't mean you can't make changes. If the order sheet says BUCKED, then no you can't but if it says scheduled, then you can. Trust me, some of the people who work for dealers don't know what each of the ordeing terminologies means.
That should look cool! Post the photos when you are ready.

Oh well, poor me, I guess I'll get by.......

Congrats Lynda! I think you've finally found the mustang that you will have for many years to come!
Once you get your VIN, make sure you get yourself on the blueoval forum (http://www.blueovalforums.com/forums...p?showforum=80) to track the progress, they are very helpful.
see here:

So looks like they have sub'd out halogen for xenon. What do you think of the appearance of the lens as opposed to the non-HID? I think the HID looks HIDeous
Your opinion is?
Thanks,
Mike
Well they do look different, but it's not so bad that it isn't worth getting them. Their performance over halogen is the deciding factor in my opinion.

At what point in this process is it bucked?
Hey Lynda, alot of the terms above are internal ones. When you get your VIN #, jump over to blueovalnews.com and some of the posters are factory employees. They can fill in all the dates for you. Most of the ones above (Gate release, blend, etc) aren't dates that we get at the dealer. To answer your question, when you get your VIN, and a week later get your build date, a week or 2 before the build week, the status changes to BUCKED, letting you know they are getting ready to build it.
Oh well, what the heck. HID or not, I'm getting a Bullitt!!!! Should I have such big problems (HID).......
Happy New Year Jeff and thanks as always!
I put my vin# on blue oval, but the folks that do the tracking aren't back until Jan 8. I was hoping I could tell from that info if it had been bucked or not for real, and then call the dealer if it had not. Considering it has an approximate delivery date of Jan 16, Jan 8th will probably be too late anyway.

My car is supposed to be built any day...so I'm also anxiously awaiting an update from them.
Those guys at BlueOval are quick. I posted up yeaterday afternoon trying to get a pdf of my window sticker from 2006. Been waiting over 2 months for the dealer to get me a reprint and ViperPilot had a copy posted in less than 6 hours.
