Bullitt vs. GT/CS
From your original post:
Two tenths is a win in every form of racing! (You know, that lead dog thing?) Nobody remembers second place.
As for your 'extremely minimal', you are once again ignoring the entire package of both performance and asthetics that drew 6500ish Bullitt buyers, and are only comparing a narrow aspect. Whereas you paid up $$ for a CS and got what - plastic?
Another viewpoint: KBB Suggested retail for 08's, excellent condition, same mileage, same major city zip, same options with the exception of "Bullitt Package" vs spoiler.
Bullitt Value $27,070 vs $25,870
I realize not everyone likes or gets the understated SE Bullitt and that's why Ford makes several versions.
Peace!
The bullitt is definitely more rare, has the upgraded suspension, cai, and exhaust etc... But the fact of the matter is...
2005 Mustang GT
0-60 = 5.3
1/4 mi. = 13.9 @ 101.4 mph
0.85 g on skidpad
2008 Bullitt
0-60 = 5.1
1/4 mi. = 13.7 @ 103.2 mph
0.87 g on skidpad
The real world differences between these cars are EXTREMELY minimal.

Seriously, delete this thread.
I just bought my car right before posting this thread. I was looking at a bullitt with 30k miles or my Gt/cs with 27k miles. The bullitt was 21k mine was 20.5k I was just curious as to how people compared these cars. I had no clue bullitt owners were so sensitive about their cars. I guess I made the right choice.

I've just been setting the record straight because of so much ridiculous misinformation.
You bought the right one for you.
btw, did you drive the B and put it through its paces?
yes... and I didn't notice that big of a difference. Granted, I couldn't drive them back to back, but I just liked the way the cs looked better. There were a bunch of possible different factors as well. The people I bought my car from were a married couple in their 50's, and it was his wifes secondary car. A bullitt is typically owned by someone that is going to drive the crap out of the car, and it just felt more worn out. Either way, I'm not sitting here "laughing" in your face. Yet, you keep coming back with petty remarks and all around bullsh!t. I would be willing to bet that in any race me and you were to do, I could beat you. The point being that the difference between our cars will come down to the driver. Period.
Hey G Wrecks, not once did I insult or call you any names.
All of this 'Bullitt' talk, talk of how a Bullitt is no better than a Mustang GT, no 'faster', a waste of money, too plain, yada yada
is old, goes back to the Fall of 2007, and usually is from the same owners of certain Mustang models.
Just enjoy your GT/CS and be happy with it. Don't second guess your purchase.

[QUOTE=socalwrench;6016732]Don't forget the rear gears. I know the Shelby GT used 3.73 gears, but I can't remember on the Bullitt for sure. The CS just used standard 3.31 or 3.55 gears.

Now you are being sensitive.
There is nothing underhanded about the sentence.
It's always owners of other models of mustangs making the kinds of comments you and a couple of other CS owners have in this thread. Always worried about 'how fast' and 'who would win' in a race.
It gets old. As i said , just enjoy your car.

well since I am on the outside of this and have a clear view the CS owners have been posting bad info and the bullitt guys just gave them the heads up with caused .. ummm problems.
lets just leave it at this... If you wanted a good looking car you got the CS and if you wanted alittle more GO for the buck you got the B.. and if you wanted smethign even more $$ with crap stripes and a much better most things you got a SGT

The question the Bullitt naysayers need to ask is - why did Ford choose to release this particular Special Edition/Limited run for their engineering and research investment for improving Mustangs, even match the exhaust tone to a DVD soundtrack, and name it after some old movie (which cost them $$ in royalties per unit)... rather than just issuing the improvements on any Mustang?

Because Mr. Cool Steve McQueen and Bullitt mean something to Mustang heritage.
I can only assume that those who don't get it are too young and don't realize what an impact the movie had for its era - both for movies, and for Mustangs.

I know its not for everybody, and that's cool. But it is a big deal in Mustang land.
