I thought the red line was an indication that you were getting close to the rev limiter, as stated above. However, I found that the 08 Bullitt I purchased has a the rev limit set at 6,500 rpm, exactly where the red line is. The rev limiter has kicked in each time I take it to red line; three times now. Just as I hit 6,500 rpm and start to press the clutch in I can feel the rev limiter kick in. Is there any way to move the rev limiter to 6,750 rpm so I can take the rpm up to 6,500 without have to make sure I shift at 6,499 rpm?

My 88 GT had a yellow line at 5,000 rpm and a red line at 6,000 rpm. I shifted at 5,400 rpm. Taking it any further was pointless because I could feel the power drop off. I did not have to worry about a rev limiter kicking in.

The 08 Bullitt pulls hard to 6,500 rpm. I cannot feel any power drop off when approaching red line at 6,500 rpm. I don't intend to take it over 6,500 rpm, I just want a small buffer in case I accidentally take to 100 rpm over.

I have read the GT red line is 6,250 rpm. Is the rev limiter set at 6,250 on the Mustang GT?

In my first drive I only came close once - being new engine and all. And with all the excitement and unfamiliarity I could be mistaken. But I'm pretty positive my limiter kicked in before 6500 - like around 6400. I was only going to peg redline but I felt the sputter before I got there.
