Bullitt Option now in Ford Order Banks (July 11th 2007)
So what kind of grill would you suggest?? A billet grill is too modern for the look. If you want it to have the "soul" of the 68 then should it have fog lights and a pony?? Plain black grill. no side scoops. Basic HG GT without emblems. That's what the original was.
You can import them- but Ford won't sell you one here. When you import there are safety checks and requirements that must be met. You need to have this done before the car can be registered. Daytime running lights, possible changes to the bumpers, etc.
The Bullitt will be completely built at Ford- thus making it easy for them to bring cars into Canada. It's like the Shelby GT500- it's sold here in Canada. It's completely built in house by Ford. SGT- upfitted at Shelby and not available in Canada.

THe only reason a Shelby GT would have to go through that though, is that it was started as a US spec Mustang GT.
This picture is in the new 2008 Mustang accessory brochure, but it's not listed as an accessory, check out the grille, notice the silver wraparound like the saleen pj car. This might be our Bullitt grille.
Hopefully, the lower airdam will be retained as well. That would make the car a bit more distinctive than the GT. But also hopefully, they better lose the hood scoop and give it the twin vents instead.
I'll almost guarantee that's your Bullitt grille right there.

I think that most of the S/E cars are just tape and stripe, at least Shelby GT/ Hertz are decently modded ( even if over priced). The GT/CS is just tape and stripes, mag wheels, for 1900 more. I think a Bullitt would be great, but FORD throw in a FRPP handling pack and FRPP CAI and tune. Give us a bit more and call it a Bullitt.
If FORD will not put the F 150 5.4 in our car, offer a Cobra Jet version with a FORD S/C 4.6 they are making now so we can compete with the S/C out there (Dodge, soon Chevy). It seems that since 1974 your basic GT has been out HP'd by Chevy every turn in the Camero (save the early to mid 80's where we were at least close). We had a 5.0, they had a 5.7 in the 90's. Ok I am done

Kind of reminds me of discussion on the Miata forum. Some people keep complaining that it needs a bigger engine, more HP because competitor X, Y, or Z does. But X and Y and Z are now gone or moved up into a totally different price range and that lowly Miata just keeps on selling.

People may hate to admit it,but the Mustang II was the second most important Mustang series,it put the Mustang back on track to what it's supposed to be. As cool as a 428CJ Mach 1 is,that's not what the Mustang is all about. Mild to Wild,we've still got the competition covered,we just don't need a 8.0L 900HP engine to do it.
