Bullitt Option now in Ford Order Banks (July 11th 2007)
Why?
It already sits pretty low, at least from what Ford could do for their standards. In fact, if I remember correctly, it was actually LOWER than what they were technically supposed to have the ride height.
There is ALWAYS someone with more power. The Bullitt is understated. That is part of the design philosophy. It doesn't need max power. It's all about understated power that does well.
They might easily make that conclusion if they are not Mustang fans. I get people asking me if my '03 Mach 1 is the latest Mustang. The Bullitt is a GT with a package of low-key enhancements that bring its handling and acceleration up a notch. When I first saw the Bullitt, all I saw was a GT without a wing, and I was well aware of the fact it was a special edition above the GT. It took a little more inspection to understand the intent of that car.
Why is it sad? I think them going out of business because they could not sell enough mainstream cars so that enthusiasts get the chance to have a Mustang as a performance option would be sad. That is Ford's reality right now.
That's why a 500hp GT500 is out there.
If you look at the progression of cars and price points through the last 10 years, we have Mustangs now that were basically where the Corvette was previously.
That station wagon with a 400hp starts at around $39,000.
Yep
They already are out of a lot of money, but it's not because they are not selling 400hp sports cars.
It was not then.
That's the beauty of the Mustang hobby. You can always do that. There are plenty of people now who want to up their GT500 to 600 and 700hp because they aren't satisifed with the base offering.
Seeing as how the stock 300hp Mustang GT today probably is faster 0-60mph than 90% of the production cars out there, I highly doubt that would happen.

Yep
I don't want it to be shelby eather but if of the three rou, sal, or shelby can help give this car some attitude I think I would rather keep my 01 atlest it is paid off and I can slap a cobra motor in there or bulid a built and supercharged 4.6l then I would be happy till I can buy some thing faster.

yes i have the motor is to small in it and has as much power as a stock gt they could have added 40 or more hp to at least make it different than a gt and plus the only thing good about the 01 was the seats.
The '01 Bullitt was not built to be a power beast or a flashy show car. It was built to show the higher ups at Ford that they could builid a car with increased power/performance between the GT and the Cobra and it would sell (And it did without any advertising budget) And if like the MACh's, then you better thank every Bullitt owner you meet becasue if it didn't sell, then the MACh1 program would never have happened.
I love the Cobra's and like almost everyone else on this and every other Mustang site, love power. In the end I prefered to go with something different that you don't see everyday. In the end it comes down to each person's preference and finances on what they buy.
I agree that Ford could do more in the power options, but given the times and their financial situation I think they are doing a good job. And you talk about Chrysler with all of their V8 offerings but what did it get them? They lost $1,111 per car last year (http://www.autoblog.com/2007/08/09/c...hicle-in-2006/). So all the power hungry people (including yourself) evidentally didn't flock to Chrysler to buy all the HEMI's they put out last year.

If all there cars didnt look sh*ty then maybe ford wouldnt be out of money!
Take that RB26DETT strip the TT off it and what do you have...CRAP!!!!!.
Thats the beauty of the V8, it doesnt need FI to be fast. Im not ******* on teh Skyline, but don't compare the two.
that is true shouldnt all you old people know this stuff you are always fighting about that political crap and you are getting mad at someones opinion about what ford should do with the new bullitt and other cars
Yall don't think they could have done a better job on the 01 model? They put a tranny that always breaks, They could have givin alot more power over a GT but didn't. When I think of special models there supposed to be BadA** More Import cars make better power than so called muscle. Dodge gets the power thing , Chevy gets it, but ford I dont know they have to out source everything they dont have a 400+ HP car that is available to the average jo that they can call there own It says Shelby on it and because of dealer mark up is outa my range 70,000+ local 40-50g sticker. If ford would make there own 400+hp Model as an option I am sure they could bring the price down to the 30s but for some reason they can't figure this out. I just think they should up there game.
Chevy and dodge both still utilize single cam, push rod motors too. they dont use OHC technology.
They did that with a 67' fastback in the fast & the furious, I was ****ed. Nissan should stay in nissan.

There is a big difference between having an opinion and being a punk/**** about your opinion.
What are you 12? Not that it matters to me. It doesn't seem people are "mad", they are just discussing the topics that are being posted.
1> Yes and needs to sit a little lower. All I am saying is when someone sees my bullit and starts to ask about it then I tell them them power rating this is what they do
I tell them the other things that make it diff but they still don't see a change between the GT
2> Chevy has the corvette and for 40+ thousand it is a bada**
3> I think I would rather keep my 01 atlest it is paid off and I can slap a cobra motor in there or bulid a built and supercharged 4.6l then I would be happy till I can buy some thing faster.
4> I would rather pay 10k more for somthing I would not get smoked in everytime I took it out.

2> Yes chevy has had it a while. its lasted, good for them.
3> Do it. I have a vortech right now. later I plan on droping in a 4.6L 4V DSS motor with 2.7L Kenny bell. Its our car have fun. while others keep it stock for the nastalgic value. Ill be doing that once I get my hands on a low mileage DHG. Itll stay stock for the SE value.
4> Then Go pay 10,000 more than I did for my car, and with the 4k ive spent on my BULLITT I will walk you.
800-1000 is a joke. maybe one run on the dyno or at the track and your rebuilding.
