Bullitt brakes & suspension
Dude, with all due respect, why do you keep coming back to the Bullitt forum to bash 2008 Bullitts? You don't like them, fine, we got that. We DO like them. End of story. Is it possible to just move on and let us enjoy our cars and discussions without getting non-stop bashed?
I'll remind you ... there is an "ignore" option on here. You're welcome to use it to ignore anything you may not want to hear/read.

I'm not trying to start anything, it's just seriously getting old, way old. Pick a different audience, instead of one you know for a fact does not agree with you.
If you wanted a GT500 you should have gotten one.
Dude,
LMFAO... Ford makes the car you are looking for it is the GT500. If you wanted a GT500 you should have gotten one.
My wife is replacing her daily driver 9 year old 1999 V-6, front wheel drive, 5-speed, 190 horsepower Camry that gets about 26 miles per gallon with a 2008 Bullitt, that will still see 20 plus MPG, hopefully over 24. The 2008 BULLITT is perfect, and the 320 Horsepower 4.6 V-8 has PLENTY of power!
It is simply amazing how you overlook all of the GREAT improvements the Bullitt package offers over the stock GT.
The original 1968 Mustang GT 390 boasted a 0-60 time of 7.8 seconds and a quarter-mile time of 15.2 seconds at 94.0 mph, according to Motor Trend. Now: Ford engineers modified the 2008 Mustang Bullitt’s chassis and suspension to fine-tune handling and ensure the extra horsepower and torque from the 4.6-liter V-8 is put to good use. Motor Trend clocks the 2008 Ford Mustang Bullitt at 5 seconds even for 0-60, with a quarter-mile time of 13.7 seconds at 102.7 mph.
The 2008 BULLITT is perfect!!!

ROFL ... How do you know I haven't driven one?
I haven't heard too many Shelby GT owners complain about an imbalance with that suspension.
Ford did a small amount of design specific to the 2008 BULLITT. They also did as much "throw together creation" just to offer an SE and pacify those that were complaining about there not being one offered since 2001. If they had done enough of the RIGHT planning they would've offered bigger engine options.
As far as owners being free to change what they don't like, why would you pay that much of a mark-up on a car that is not what you really want and yet can't get what you want for the amount of money you're spending ... (???)
Bottom line ... beautiful perfect appearance job for a BULLITT, but the performance just doesn't live up to the name.

TXBLUOVAL You really need to STEP OFF!
Oh for crying out loud, Are you Freaking Serious?
TXBLUOVAL, please read your posts in the context of the entire thread. To all of us the logic of your position is strangely absent.
It is one thing to state your opinion, however misguided it may be, it is a totally different and inappropriate thing to bash others over the head with your misguided opinions even after asked to stop. Please catch a clue.
You really need to STEP OFF!
The 2008 Bullitt Rocks!
NOT!
For your edification...

Like I said, Ford makes the car you seem to be looking for, and that is obviously not the 2008 Bullitt.

And just as many disagree!!
Given that a stock 08 Bullitt has almost as much HP as the original GT390... and about 40hp MORE than a stock 01 Bullitt, my vote is that you're just griping for the sake of griping. Face it... based on your broad based complaint Ford could have put a bigger powerplant in the Bullitt, the Shelby GT, the Mustang GT, the Mustang V6, and the entire rest of Ford's product line. Well thanks to the economy, CAFE regulations, and the ever increasing cost of gas I suspect it'll be a long while before you see your wet dream come true!
Oh and if you dispute my HP estimates above then go check out the hyperlinks I provided in my last post. My statement is based on the STOCK numbers listed on Brad's timeline for each car.

My 2 cents: If the Bullitt was available in 2006 I might own one now.
Highland Green is a great color.
